I am a Pagan, but I have a few questions regarding Christianity.
Why oh why do a vast majority of Christians seem to believe that they will be going to hell for what other people do?
Why do a vast majority of Christians not see that Satan is swelling his ranks within the very church that was made to oppose him? Fundamentalist Evangelical Christianity seems to espouse hatred and intolerance wherever it goes. It plants evil and violence in extreme cases. Would God do that, or would Satan do that in the guise of God? Hasn't anyone realized that the deadliest mask worn by evil is a mask of virtue?

As I said, Robert m, I'm Pagan. I was simply curious as to how Christians deal with these questions on a daily basis.
God said, "Judge not, let ye be judged." God tells his Christians not to judge people, yet these same Christians feel they have a sacred right and duty to sit in judgment on everyone who doesn't share the Christian view of the world. Some of these situations have even led to violence and death. I want to know if these people realize what they are doing. See, whatever religious teaching you follow, that's the rules your soul lives by. I want to know if these people realize the danger they are in. Why does every intolerant Christian not see that his mortal soul is in danger?

You are very smart. Nobody seems to realize what you have just stated. Have you heard the news report of the pastor who paid for meth with sex with a homosexual? It kinda is embarrassing!

"Why oh why do a vast majority of Christians seem to believe that they will be going to hell for what other people do?"
I doubt you will find any Bible believing Christian who believes this. It is unbiblical and not taught as Christian doctrine.
"Why do a vast majority of Christians not see that Satan is swelling his ranks within the very church that was made to oppose him?"
This is not true either. The Church of Christ, made up of the called, the elect, are sealed by the Holy Spirit and Satan cannot touch them nor claim them. Those whom Satan "claims" are not believers, never have been.
"Fundamentalist Evangelical Christianity seems to espouse hatred and intolerance wherever it goes."
Again, another false statement. For every Fred Phelps(who is not a Bible believing Christian), there are hundreds of believers serving God by serving others in love. We have a hatred and intolerance of sin, which God has also.
"It plants evil and violence in extreme cases."
Could you provide some examples? Again, for every example you could come up with, I could provide many more examples of Christians sowing love, mercy and grace.
"Hasn't anyone realized that the deadliest mask worn by evil is a mask of virtue?"
This statement has some truth to it. Satan often comes as an angel of light, deceiving many. He is never spoken of in Scripture as ugly or unattractive, but as beautiful and very enticing.

Being a Pagan is a smart thing. If you were to research early Christianity, you will see that the Mother figure which was stole from early druidic Celtic religions was most revered. But with the establishment of most of the male dominated churches that have evolved today, there is no mention of women having any major roles in any of the so-called enlightened Christian religions today. Paganism is still practiced widely throughout the entire world, and more and more people are being converted or coming back to the religion that makes the most sense. May fortune always smile upon you and yours.

What is a Christian? A Republican? A Democrat? Labels are a mental short cut to understanding an individual.
Around where I live if you refer to a Pagan, it is a member of a motorcycle gang which is reviled for its violence, disrespect for women, and dealing with methamphetamines. Of course, that is an example of a mental short cut.
I hope that you meet some people you like as individuals, and later learn that they follow the teachings of Jesus, which is fundamentally a teaching of love. There is a lot of trash that has been layered on top of that by many different people, but a self sacrificing love that is caring and not calculated is something I think we all have a natural desire for, no matter how often we fall short of that personal aspiration.
Peace to you.

As a Christian, you do make a valid point but in what guise is satan masquerading as?
This does not distinguish the fire and passion of true Christians who seek after God with all their heart. The devil is making his biggest ruse to destroy any foundation in the church in these last days. The underlying issue is some church goers have little idea on protection against the enemy and his schemes.
As for as planting, this is not the true essence of the Church. Not all churches have this agenda but also understand many people who hate Christians will do anything to disprove the value we uphold.

i think you should really not say vast majority cuz i don't believe that to be the case at all! i believe that those things are true to some degree but not the vast majority. and yes there is evil in the church that is because we are dealing with imperfect people, and lets not forget, that everyone who goes to church and calls themselves a Christian is not a Christian, you will know them by their fruits, in other words the life they live, so if they are spreading hatred, and intolerance, those are not true Christians because the bible does not teach hatred of people in anyway. and i don't know of one REAL Christian who believes they are going to go to hell for the actions of others, that totally contradicts the bible also. and as far as the question about what would God do, you must remember that His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts, therefore, He is Holy and must deal with sin. however He chooses to deal with it, is how He chooses to deal with it!

I find it interesting that you would say that Fundamentalist Evangelical Christianity espouses hatred and intolerance. That usually happens when Christians preach the teachings of Jesus. It is He who said that those who do this or that or don't do this or that are going to hell. So, your real problem is not with Jesus's followers but with Jesus himself. Why do you think the pharisees had him murdered. The bible said that what Jesus said "smote them in their hearts" and they hated him for it. They did not want to hear the truth and today no one wants to hear the truth or be obedient to their creator. The liberal "Christians" don't teach much of anything so you can't go by them. God will not be mocked. Everyone, including those who don't acknowledge God now, will eventually bow down and know the truth.

I see your point in hypocrisy, but me being agnostic I do not believe in such things. Christianity has sprung from the Jewish faith, and seeing as how they do not believe in Christian concept of hell, then it is safe to believe that the invention of the concept of hell was for a more insidious plan. A plan to get more followers into their congregation. Let me ask you this, why was it so noble for the son of god to give his life for the souls of man kind when he could be resurrected at a will. How is this a sacrifice? How is this a testimony to sacrifice. Our US soldiers die and sacrifice them selves ever day for the the people of this country and they will not come back to life, but yet they are seen as being less than the "Son of God".

You have the Lord's guidance and protection, holy water or not, religious jewelry or not. These things are alright if you understand that they're not magic. They can be signs of your attitude toward God and be reminders of Him. The same with prayer. Your heart has to be in it. A parrot could be trained to say the Lord's prayer. If he says it, it won't do him any good. I think holy water has salt in it. It has been blessed by a priest. Priests can bless jewelry, houses, and other things. I think Cath cemetery ground is blessed. Blessing things might be a nice custom, but I don't know if it does anything.

nia beat me to my answer. you do sound like a christian. satan is indeed having a big influence on our churches and is using them for his benefit. the bible says to test the spirits, and prove from whence they come. satan is the great counterfeiter and deceives the unwitting. i think, from reading your question, that you are a very bright person. you sound as if you truly want an answer, and are not just goading christians. i urge you to talk to someone who can answer your question in person so that you can have input and ask more questions as you talk.
to be sure, we will not go to hell for the acts of others, but will go because we reject the offer of free salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Please ask someone about this, as I am sure you are a sincere person and want to do what is right. I pray God's blessings upon you and all you hold dear. i am writing in christian love,
blackmule.

very good point. I am a christian and do see the corruption that has entered and turned Christianity into some political force. I think though "pagans" as you refer to yourself fail to see that Christians don't think they are going to hell for what others do, but they do care that the other people are going to hell. Which most athiest agnostics don't grasp. They honestly care about them, although it has turned into a "stop wrecking my country" mentality, with issues such as abortion and homosexuality. and that has done a disservice to the name of Jesus.
