It depends on the type of beer and the color of the bottle. Green glass give beer a "skunk" flavor fairly quickly, from the green light that gets to the beer. So beer in green bottles only lasts for about a month. Brown bottles are the best at preventing light from giving the beer odd flavors. Some beers, like pilsners, are meant to be consumed shortly after bottling, others have longer shelf life, IPA was designed to survive the months long journey from England to India, in a warm ship, without developing off flavors. My dad once made a peach lambic that was alright when it was first bottled, but after it sat at cool room temps for 8 years it was awesome. I produced a red ale last year, the flavors were poorly balanced for the first 6 weeks after bottling, but they blended really well after that and it was delicious until we finished off the last bottle 6 weeks later, so it was great after 3 months.

It depends on the beer. Canned beer will last longer than bottled beer. Sunlight seems to make it go bad quicker. It should be good for 100 days no matter what. Longer than a year, try it, but be be prepared to dump it out.

At least a couple days after you've opened it, but make sure you put the cap back on tight. Sometimes I'll drink 1/2 a beer then stick it back in the fridge. Tastes fine the next day or so. Obviously I'm not a big drinker. :o) After a few days it will get flat. Gross!
