recently i asked this boy in my class to go to prom with me. he told me that he didnt think that his father would let him go. i asked him why and he said that because his father was always pissed off at him. Bull Sh**! then i have him stay with me after school and we sit and talk and as normal i asked if he could walk me to my bus and hold my books. it was pouing rain and he agreed. then the next day he goes up to my best friend and crys telling her that i flirted with him. (mind you we've only been friends since 5th grade. ) would anyone concider this as flirting? and does anyone think that what he told me about the prom is bull sh**?

He might be telling the truth about his father, since you've known each other for soo long have you ever met the father?? You might know what kind of person the man is and if he is telling the truth. Not flirting to me at all, it was raining for goodness sake. Everybody has a different opinion of what flirting is though. I think he was just being a nice guy. Back to the prom thing though, that does sound pretty bogus because it's prom and everybody should go. But if he said it you can't force him to go. Good luck on finding a date.

I'm not sure, but he sounds a bit immature by actually going to your friend and telling them that. Maybe the prom thing is a lie. And it wasn't even close to flirting. You've been friends since the 5th grade. What's a few books b/w friends? He needs to reconsider.

Why was he crying.. I think this whole situatoin is bull! Bull I don't understand! Even if he wasn't telling the truth on the prom thing, I wouldn't keep asking him! I would ask someone else. I don't know about ya, but if that was me, I would have got me a makeover and he'll be the one asking me on that prom. ;)

I think he's probably freaked out that you wanted to go to prom with him. I know you wanted him to go just as friends, but guys don't see prom as a 'friend' thing...they see it as a date. He probably just thinks of you as friend and doesn't want to ruin the friendship by you becoming a grilfriend. Back off a little, find another prom date, and treat him like you always have before.

it probably was a rubbish excuse not to go with you. if i was you i'd ask why does he not tell you the truth and he'll probably say something like he didnt want to hurt your feelings. so just ask someelse. he doesnt seem worth it hun. and there is nothing wrong with flirting

hmmm.... is he the honest type of guy, if yes then hes probably telling the truth...... and sometimes boys try to be wise @$$'s and say its flirting
