How can you tell the good from the bad on online dating?

I always seem to have trouble finding the good guys on online dating. The ones I always end up are mean, selfish, and a**holes. After how long you have been talking to them before you meet them? Should you wait for the guy to ask you? What are some good topics to talk about?

Just be truthful to yourself and to others. I myself found my fiance online. We were friends first for a few years and took our relationship to the next level. Shortly after that we met in person for the first time. I was the 1 that suggested we met up. I went to see him. As far as what to talk about. Depends on who you are as a person. If your very shy and not very outgoing, you really won't have much to say. Finding someone who you get along with and have some of the same qualities in life is a sure bet that y'all will have things to talk about. I hope ya find the one your looking for. Good luck!!

I would think that it is pretty hard to tell what a person is like online - either guy or girl. After all, they can be anything they want on here. I would suggest that you spend time chatting with them and think about what they are saying. Are their stories always consistent? If they are lying to you, they tend to trip themselves up from time to time so being able to save the convos or remember what they have told you really helps. I would talk with them for quite a while and slowly you will get a gut feeling about them. Then if you feel ready to meet them,take all the precautions that you can -meet in a public place,possibly take a friend etc. There are some really good people on here but you have to be willing to take the time and put the effort out in order to find them. MOST those guys are just trying to get into your pants in online dating. Online dating is an easy way to bs the girls and get into their pants. Don't be suprised you meet a lot of assholes and selfish people. When women say they have trouble finding a good guys it means they make bad choices in men. You might meet a good guy but pass him over to go out with another asshole because he seems more "fun". Lot of women seem to have this problem.
