Human beings are the only creatures that possess both a mortal biological nature and an immortal spiritual nature in the image of God. This differentiates humans from every other form of Creation. Angels have only an immortal spiritual nature, no biological nature, while animals have only a biological nature, no immortal spiritual nature. Human beings are also "the summit of the Creator's work" [Catechism of the Catholic Church].

Man, oh man, the person who doesn't even want Catholics to answer questions directly addressed to them is really something with the hate. I think that being human from a Catholic perspective is wonderful because when you think that the Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth became a human you understand (just a little) how much God loves us and that we are destined to be MORE than just a human. What that is we won't know until later but, maybe the right word for us humans is POTENTIAL

Many things on many levels.

One of the more interesting is our pro-life attitude:

The Catholic Church is pro-life in the widest sense. This is often called a "Consistent Ethic of Life."

This pro-life stance stresses the highest regard for dignity of human life including that of:
- All people in objecting to unjust war and nuclear arms.
- The unborn in objecting to to abortion, in fitro fertilization, frozen embryos, embryonic stem cell research, and cloning
- The elderly, sick and dying in objecting to assisted suicide and euthanazia
- Prisoners in objecting to the death penalty
- The poor and minorities in supporting social justice issues.

With love in Christ.

It means viewing the world through a warped prism where distortion is called beauty and lies are called truth. They are to be pitied, as all religionists should be.

It means letting the reality that God is your Father and you are His son, sink in. We have to learn to deal with the immense privilege he has bestowed on us, but also with what is expected of us as His sons.

Humans are small, insignificant and weak and have to work to deserve God's love. Though we have it already we should work to deserve it.
