Truth? I tried to kill myself. I was about 30 years old. My cheating husband called and told me he wasn't coming home that night. She was 17, and she wasn't the first or the last.) I was so depressed I was screaming in pain inside. I just needed the pain to stop, so I took every pill in the house and chased it down with a fifth of Tequila. I remember praying and telling God that I wasn't sure if suicide was a sin and if it was would he please forgive me. Then I lost consciousness. Later my cheating husband said he just had a bad feeling and came home to check on me. He found me having non stop seizures and called 911. While they were pumping my stomach, I died from a heart arrythmia. They tried several times and finally revived me. I was on a heart monitor in ICU for 3 days after that, but I don't remember any of it. The only thing I remember is having to have my bed linens changed several times until they finally put tubes in everywhere. No bright light, no memories, no feelings at all. Just like blinking out of existence. I guess God didn't approve, because it was SO unlikely that my husband, (now my EX), would suddenly decide he had to come home. I didn't feel very lucky, since I was still very depressed. I still wanted to die because of the pain, but I realized God didn't want me to die. Later, "Mr. Wrong" divorced me. It was the best thing anyone ever did for me, because after that I was alone and I prayed and told God that I was lonely, and I had tried but I realized I couldn't make it alone. About 3 weeks after that I met my current husband. He is the best thing that ever happened to me, and we have now been married 16 years, and we are still very happy. The main lesson I learned from these 2 events in my life is that God hears my prayers and answers them. I know that sometimes the answer is "NO", but I know he is there and he listens.
Also, I lost consciousness and almost drowned in a pool when I was about 7. I was swimming near the bottom and a boy jumped off the diving board onto my head. My head hit the pool bottom and I was almost knocked unconscious. I came to and tried to make it to the top of the water, but got really disoriented when I was about 3 feet from the top, thought I was in the air and took a deep breath, but it was of water, not air. Then I lost consciousness. The next thing I remember was waking up on my side coughing and vomiting. The lifeguard tolld me I almost drowned. I was grateful for the lifeguard, and I felt small, vulnerable, and helpless. Plus my chest, throat, ears, eyes, and sinuses were sore and stinging. Somebody wrapped me in a towel and I had to wait until I could walk. My parents weren't home and they had no way to notify them, so I had to ride my bike home with my little brother on the fender, and I don't think I ever told my parents. I was afraid they would never let me go to the pool again.

Was cutting into a set of Christmas lights when I was a kid ( I was making up a set out of 2) never realised that when I cut the cable it was mains voltage.
My reflex action meant that I gripped the flex tight in my hands so the power just kept going through me.
Everything was very bright white . I had heard that if you jumped you could break the power as you weren't earthed so I remember thinking I had to jump. This I did .It was no use the power still passed through me. I remember everything being bright white and felt the power buzzing through me . Although my mum was in the room she was too shocked to do anything except screamed for My Brother who was in the bath at the time He rushed through and pulled the plug out .At the time I felt I was just about to give up as my jumping couldn't release the power.
I just felt dazed and shook up after it was switched off .
But I was scared to go near the socket for a few days afterwards . It was at the living room door and every time I went into the room I crept in past the socket.
I still have the scar on the palm of my hand where the wire burnt me.40 years later.
Ps I later became an electrician to trade so the thing that almost killed me gave me a good lively-hood !

Yeah I'll talk about it. And Thank God he intervened and let me live.-------Praise His Holy Name---- I have arthritis and took Naprosyn for it. I was told by a Dr. that I could take more than I had been taking. I took what he said for some time. I was at work one night and felt really wiped out. I did as little as possible and went home after work took some antibiotics because I thought I had an upper respiratory infection, which I had quite often. After awhile I felt like I had to vomit. I did and it was black, like tar. My husband called the ambulance and I passed out in the floor. The ambulance got there and rushed me to the hospital. They checked me out and found I was loosing blood.
I went into shock. They found I had holes in my stomach lining.
They cartarized them. I got 9 pints of blood. Stayed in the hospital for 6 days. I never had pain during this except when they put a cathater in my artery in my neck. (can't spell it-- the artery).
I never worried about dying, even though they told my husband I might not make it. I am very glad that I did get to live. Luck had nothing to do with it. The Lord is my healer and I give Him all the praise for letting me live.

I slipped while in the shower and almost broke my neck on the side of the bath tube. I was shaken but, as i had no real damage i didn't think of it for a while. But a couple of months later i really began to look at it. I had no fear of death as i recall, no real feelings at all. But i did think just before how slippery it was, maybe that's why i slipped. Since, i do not question death or see dangers. if anything i realised that all i do will eventually lead to my death and so i just ignore that.

I was in a coma for nearly a month. I came out of the coma a couple of times. One time I had a Catholic priest performing the last rites on me, and I am not Catholic. Lucky to be around to tell about it? You bet. Otherwise, it did not feel like anything, other than waking from a deep sleep.

I think I had scarlet fever or something similar when I was a teenager.
My fever was over 103 degrees and I could not respond to verbal communication or control my body. It took everything I could do just to concentrate on breathing.
My family did not have health insurance at the time and mistakenly thought I was in a deep sleep. I could hear them, but I couldn't respond.
Later I was hallucinating and delirious. It took several weeks for me to recover the ability to speak and write again, once the fever broke.
I was not happy or anything. I was just very tired.

I was travelling in a friends car down a windy mountain road, which had a drop into a ravine. The car skidded on ice, did a 180 degree turn and continued to slide to the edge of the road, it literally hung on the edge of the road. at the time i remember thinking calmly, i'm going to die, thats it life over. Afterwards I felt that my time wasnt up yet there must be more for me to do!!

I have a heart condition, which makes a valve get stuck opened.Result rapid heart rate, about 140-160 beats a minute.I have 2 kids, once when in the ambulance, they kept giving me the shot to make it stop and I felt very close to death. The shot slows your heart so quickly that you feel you are dying.I was not afraid for myself at all, only for my children. They were not ready to loose their mother.I prayed out loud, and made the emt pray.We were also stuck in traffic waiting for a train to pass.It has happened a # of times since,I am not fearful of death at all.I just would want to be with my kids and share with them their lives.

As a pre- or early teen...Fresh jawbreaker that tried to slip down my throat and stopped half way. It is surprising how something as life threatening as not being able to breath is painless. Luckily after quite a few attempts I forced it to be swallowed before ever passing out. Boy did my throat hurt for a while.
