need help on a cockatoo what to feed him and why does he hate men and can we make him like them

You obviously have a male. You can't make him like men. The best diet is pellets. (I use Pretty Bird). You must also supplement that with fresh fruits and vegetables. They'll also eat rice, pasta, cooked eggs and many other things. Be sure and leave the salt out. You can also buy raw unsalted peanuts as treats. They'll eat peanut butter. I buy dried fruit for off season. They'll eat sunflower seeds also. Whatever you feed him, make sure the pellet is his staple. Good luck.

You really should have researched about the bird before you bought it. Cockatoos can be high maintenance. Feed it pellets mainly (I use Zupreem) and fresh fruits and vegetables. Peanuts an other seeds should only be treats. DO NOT FEED IT AVOCADO, CHOCOLATE, FOODS HIGH IN SALTS AND SUGAR, AND ANYTHING WITH CAFFEINE!! Those things can kill your bird! It's never too late to do some research. Find books about your breed of cockatoo. As for hating men, it's not impossible to get him to like men but its extremely difficult especially if the bird is older. Like I said, find some books. They'll help.

Give him mixed vegetables, fruits, and nuts. If you give him an apple, DO NOT give him a piece with seeds in it. It can kill him. Tons of wooden toys because they love to chew. And the reason why it doesn't like men is because cockatoos are very attached to its owner. Maybe you could get a bird trainer to help you.

Do you seriously have a pet that you don't know how to feed? Please, I beg, take it immediately to your local animal sanctuary before you accidentally kill it.
