I have been feeding three feral cats outside for the past several months. They were originally left there by their mother when they were kittens. I tried to catch them, but couldn't. Now they're about 6 or 7 months old. I love these guys like they were my own kids. They've become friendly and playful, and I named them all. Now, I have to part with some of them, and it breaks my heart. If I leave them running wild in my back yard, the females will get pregnant and have litters all over the place. Not only that, but they could easily get run over or injured in some way. Thank God they haven't so far. There are some very cruel people in this world
who like to torture animals for the fun of it, and I have some real jerks for neighbors. I want to find these little guys a place to live, without them ending up being euthanized or confined to a small cage for the rest of their lives. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Sick answers will be reported.

Hi there...consider contacting any of your no-kill shelters in the region to see if there are any feral cat coalitions in your region. These organizations will generally come out and trap, spay/neuter and find homes for them.

If they are friendly and playful with you then they are not really feral, just stray. If you contact a no kill shelter explain to them that they may need work because they do live outside. Most shelters will work with them and if they are tame enough to live in a home they will adopt them out. Even if they are not sutable for homes, they could maybe be someones farm cats. ALot of people like the friendly cats to be their barn cats so they can collect them easily for shots. Just make sure you work through a shelter, this way they will all be spayed at least.

the biggest problem with the cat population is finding them homes, the best thing you can do is try to find them homes your-self but the major issue is if they have been outside only and are not totally tamed them you do have a problem... most feral rescue org. will not remove ferals cats from the area as you simply can not re-locate ferals, outside that is, i mean if you say their friendly that's good, but are they food friendly and are they only friendly to you? because then you will have problems getting them into new homes as most people are looking for the perfect pet and ones that are shy or skittish dont usuallly get adopted... maybe eventually .. welll my suggestion would be you need to contact the county shelter in your area or the local no-kill shelter and see what information they can give you, but be fore-warned that most no-kill shleters are full and dont always have space...and the other thing is i would also call animal control in your area, although they cant do anything (i believe) because nothing has actually happened you can always call because they have to log and file it any way even if they don't go out and investigate so if someone is being nasty and threathing to hurt the cats/kittens you will have it on file with animal control.... that's what i woulds do .... good luck...

Look up Alley Cat Allies on the internet and contact them. PLEASE get them fixed before you leave them to fend for themselves. Alley Cat Allies will help you with their TNR program. They have humane cages allowing you to catch the cats. They go to a vet in their network, get neutered and vaccinated and released back to where they came from. Perhaps they even know of someone else in the area with a colony where you could bring the cats.

Call your local vet and see if he knows no kill or foster homes for these animals.

Meanwhile you should have them spayed / neutered. Use a humane trap if needed to catch them. Ask your vet if there are any low cost / no cost places where you can get them fixed if you can't afford full vet rates.

SPCA or humane shelter, but if its kitten season don't be to optimistic that feral kittens will be re homed. They are reaching sexual maturity now so its a good time to take action. try castrating and taming them before re homing for better odds. If you cant re home them then they will need to be euthanized, otherwise they will reproduce and it will make your problems worse. they may transmit disease to other pets. because they are becoming mature they will start acting territorial and may attack other cats.
