Why are we here? What is the purpose? I know God loves us and everything, but why does he put us through so much if in the end we're just going to die? Why does he have to break our hearts so many times if we're not going to learn anything from it? I'm 18 and I've already lost so many people that ment alot to me in the past few years. I've lost faith in away.

There is a war going on for your (and everyone else's) eternal soul. This is why there is pain and difficulty in the world. The nature of the war is this: God wishes you to draw near to him in love, and Satan wishes you to draw away from God. God offers you blessings, peace, joy, and freedom, while Satan offers you damnation, unrest, sorrow, and bondage.

In the end, we are not going to just die. Our bodies are going to die. Our souls will go one of two places. We are here to choose where we would like to go. This is the entire purpose of existence: to choose God, or to not choose him.

Those who walk in faith do learn from heartbreak. Those who are walking in self-will sometimes learn a little something from heartbreak but most times learn nothing. If you give your sorrows to God and ask that he guide your life, he will teach you through your heartaches and difficulties.

Know that while people you have cared about have died, you didn't lose them. You lost their company, yes...but they weren't yours to lose. They are God's creation, and he does and will continue attend to everything he created.

When you were born you recieved a spirit that will live for all eternity, for billions of years. Here you are 18 years into an eternal existance and already you are giving up. You have not yet begun to live and if you make the right decisions you could have a wonderful life and a unbelieveablwe eternity ahead of you. If in the end you are just going to die then I see your point, but if in the end you are going to be ushered into an eternal paradise then this is just the beginning. Get a positive attitude and do as Jesus said. "Seek first the kingdom of heaven and God's righteousness and all these things (blessings of life) will be added to you". I am getting old, lost my health 15 years ago, have been on dialysis for years, Have died several time and been brought back by defibulation, I am diabetic, and a few other choice things, and I have never been so happy in my life. I know God and I know where I am going, and rejoice in all the things he provides and it is a wonderful life. Hang in there there is many great things to come for you. God bless you.

The main point of life is to live according to God's will so that we can have an afterlife. That means that we do NOT just die. You are letting Satan in by doubting. We have all suffered losses in our lives and will suffer more. That doesn't mean it's for nothing and that we won't meet our loved ones again in a much better place. I wish you luck in finding a way to deal with your grief and loss. I will pray for you to find the strength you need. I believe in the power of prayer. Maybe you could try that?

God doesn't break anyone's hearts. The reason we suffer in life is because of sin, ours and other's. Sin began in the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. It's snowballed since then, and the world we see around us now is a result of thousands upon thousands of years of sin: envy, hatred, lust, lying, coveting, murders, everything, you name it.

The purpose of life is to know Jesus Christ. When you do, you will understand this is a fallen world you live in, and not expect it to live up to your expectations. We live a very short life compared to eternity. When you realize that Jesus died on a cross to pay for your sins...and that one day all things will be made right, without any more suffering or sorrow, then your life will become about comforting others, encouraging them, and telling them about the Savior.

I pray to God that He be the lifter of your head today, and that you find the Lord and the abundant life He has for you.

Oh darlin. I know how it is. The past two years of my life have been the most horrendous in a long series of painful years. Sometimes I see it clearly and sometimes I'm lost again. Find some good friends who you can confide in and can pray with you and love you. I trust that in the end God knows my pain and he will give me peace.

This life is but a blink of the eye in eternity. Don't concern yourself with this world for personal gain. There is nothing you can take with you but your interactions with others.

God has given us free will. For good or evil. You are 18 and still writing your life, while us older guys just reflect on ours. Choices you make now will live with you forever.

Do not judge what you don't understand.
He is to judge us, not the other way around. You can find him in his word, The Bible. He has provided a plan to live on this Earth. How husbands are to treat there wives and kids and how to worship.

Just remember your fellowman, learn to love them who you have seen and you will be closer to God who you have not seen.

I'm sorry you lost people who were close to you. I lost my father so I know how you feel. God does not only give us good things in this life. The good will come in Heaven, where there is no sorrow, no jealousy, no pain. I hope you one day regain your faith. Bless you.
