Salad is very good for you, but I'm with you on the lettuce deal- not a big fan of the "tasteless taste". For some great nutrition ideas that a personalized for you, go to
www.mypyramid.gov
This is the new food pyramid for the Unites States FDA. It works really well, and has tons of cool features and ways to keep fit on the site to help YOU!! Even if you don't live in the US, you should really give it a try:)
By the way, low-fat salad dressing can really spruce up the lettuce- maybe you'll like it more. I also think that fruits and other (especially dark green) veggies would be a good choice for you. Good Luck!

well yeah salad is good for you if you have the right lettuce, like spinach and lettuce healthier than just plain iceburg lettuce....also its the dressing that make salads very unhealthy. You should at least have light dressing or oil and vinegar for a healthy salad dressing. If you dont want to eat salad...grilled chick is great, its protein and not fattening...
If you ever eat pasta...get rid of any pasta you have that is made with flour enriched products, which it will say so on the ingrediants....they make multi grain pasta now which tastes good and is healthy.
Buy some frozen fruits in the freezer section of the store and put em in a blender with some yogurt...thats healthy and tasty....

Are you kidding me? Are you asking if fruits and vegtables are good for you? Have you been living in the dark ages? YES, Salad is good for you. Darker the lettuce the better, iceburg lettuce has hardly any nutritional value. Romaine is much healthier. Also you can put any fruit or vegtable in you salad, besides the usual lettuce tomatoe and cucumbers, try carrots, peppers, celery, olives, There are hundreds of dressings to try also to spruce it up, try diffrent ones, try to stick to lite dressings. Salad Bars at Supermarkets and Resturants usually have a wide variety of options.

Leafy green vegetables are great for you. They have a lot of iron (among other nutrients), and clean out your intestines very well. There is no substitute for leafy green vegetables, so if you don't eat them you'll never have a well rounded nutritional diet. But there are lots of different kinds of leafy vegetables.
Think about your diet this way: If you lived in the wild, what would you eat? Leaves of plants, animal meat, fish, fruits, maybe eggs. What couldn't you eat? Sugar, cheese, breads, any snack foods. Our bodies evolved to eat certain things. The things that aren't healthy for us are the things our ancestors never had the opportunity to eat back when they had to grow or catch all of their own food.

My mom doesn't like it too, but she recently started eating it with an orange! seriously she wraps the piece of orange in the lettuce and loves it! Try it.
One more thing you can do to get your greens without the bad taste is to use a blender and make green smoothie. Add a banana or something sweet and bad taste will go away. To make the green smoothie you can add collard greens, kale, parsley etc.

Salads are good for you but in small portions. Your body has a hard time digesting the lettuce.

Yes, salad is good for you. If you do not like salad, you can have meat, chicken, and turkey, for most nutrients. But to put it in an easy way, you need to have an equal amount of both to be healthy.

If you don't like lettuce, make salads without it! Heres my favorite:
-chopped green peppers
-halved cherry/grape tomatoes
-chopped onions
-chopped cucumbers
-crumbled feta cheese
-sprinkle oregano, S&P
-drizzle olive oil & balsamic vinegar
-toss and enjoy!
Real simple, and real good. You could basically add any other veggies you like that would taste good with vinegar.

If you hate standard (iceberg) ;ettuce, then try romaine or spinach.
My favorite dessert salad: baby spinach, walnuts, craisins, sliced strawberries or mandarin oranges, raspberry vinagrette dressing.
You could get some veggies and cut them up and have dressing for dip.
Try to use turkey rather than red meats. You can try a ground turkey-stuffed bell pepper, turkey burgers, turkey meatloaf, turkey meatballs and sauce, turkey bacon, turkey pepperoni, turkey ham, etc.
Chicken is good, too. Tyson makes pre-cooked grilled, marinated strips that you can top off a salad with, mix with pasta, or virtually any other dish. Jenny-O makes trukey products.
Don't be afraid to mix meats with friuts. Pork tenderloin with apricot marmalade is good baked, grilled fish woth lemons or oranges, ham and pineapple, chicken and strawberries, etc.
Remember to eat greeen veggies with dinner. (I like frozen) Sugar-snap peas, asparagus, french-cut green beans, brocoli, petite peas, okra, etc. Put frozen veggies in microwave safe dish, cover just the bottom with water (about a quarter cup or less), cover and nuke for 3-4minutes. Drain and serve. It steams them and retains the naturan nutrients. Boiling veggies destroys most of the nutritional value.
Avoid white breads and eat more wheat or milti-grain breads. Go light on the sauces, spreads, dressings, oils, etc. Use vinagrette salad dressing spray rather than pouring it on. limit starches like pasta and potatoes unless yu are exercising frequently. And drink at least a full glass of water before eating.
Snacks: Carrots and celery (peanut butter or cream cheese)
sunflower seeds and raisins
sliced cucumber and vinagrette
sliced apple in plain yogurt with cinnamon
wheat thins with sliced strawberries, cream cheese or vanilla yogurt
Half-bagle slice with cream cheese, roma tomato slices, and thin-sliced cucumber
Turkey bacon-wrapped scallops
shrimp cocktail
yogurt with granola/granola bar with yogurt dip
banana with yogurt dip
slice of wheat toast with peanut butter and banana slices
hardboiled eggs/slice of hardboiled egg with sliced turkey ham on a wheat thin
