I had to reinstall WinXP MCE 2005 on my PC after a Chinese-English dictionary (mysteriously) caused it to crash terribly upon loading up. Now, the PC is not working properly-it refuses to nstall Windows Media PLayer 11 series, and the Update Rollup 2 for Media center edition Windows. When I enter "SFC.exe /scannow" into the Run box, it comes up with faulty XP components and requests the use of a Windows XP Profesional CD 2! I do not have this, why would my Media Center Edn PC ask for a disk from a different OS? Any help, please?

Reinstall again should sort out this problem - must sure the disk are clean.

if the beep is coming from the computers internal speaker and you dont mind losing the beep at startup disconnect the computers internal speaker.
