I don't want fancy bread, just plain, basic loaves. I do not have yeast, but I do have self rising flour! Is there any thing I can use to replace the yeast? Please give a website or a recipe! THANK YOU

Do you have a bread machine or are you using your oven?

NO YEAST BREAD

Preheat oven to 400ºF.
Ingredients
4 cups flour
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tbsp baking soda
1½ cups water
2 tsp vinegar (cider or white)

Combine dry ingredients and mix. Combine water and vinegar. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix. Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead for two or three minutes (no need to overdo it). Shape into a round (about 1½ to 2 inches high), then place on pan. Dip a sharp knife into flour and cut an 'X' into the top of the loaf. Bake 40 minutes. Remove, and while hot, glaze with 1 tbsp melted or softened butter.

FLAT BREAD

1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. boiling water
4 - 4 1/2 c. white flour
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda

Heat oven to 400 degrees. In large bowl combine whole wheat flour, sugar, butter and water. Let stand until cool (about 5 minutes). Stir in remaining ingredients using enough flour to make dough easy to handle. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead about 5 minutes.
Divide dough in quarters and cut each quarter into 8-10 portions. Roll out each portion on floured surface as thin as possible. Flat breads will be irregular in shape. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 5-10 minutes depending on thickness, or until golden brown.
