what your probably seeing isn't rotting its just oxygen coming contact with the fruits flesh which causes it to turn brown. to prevent this just squeeze some fresh lemon juice over it to keep it from browning. u can also do this with pears and avocados.

place them in some water with lemon juice, or if you dont have any lemon juice mix sprite with water, and it will keep them fresh and they wont turn brown
