When I came off my antidepressants I did it over 6 months, gradually reducing the dose every couple of weeks. I think your doctor was wrong to tell you to be treatment less for a week, but that is just my opinion. Go back and see him and tell him how you feel!...;

I depends of which one.
For example, Paxil is said not to cause any withdrawal, but in fact, a lot of people report hardcore symptoms.

As a rule of thumbs, you should always stop gradually.If your doctor doesn't believe you as you explain your symptoms, find another one. Fast. You deserve help in this process.
Good luck!

Each person metabolized medication differently, so results may vary from person to person. Depending on the medication, the strength, and how long you've been taking it, it could take anywhere from a day or two to several weeks or months before it leaves your body completely.

Your doctor should have slowly removed you from the meds. You need to call the doctor and tell them you are having withdraws.
