Well, in response to a question about hijabs, I learned interesting things about christians. I was just wondering if any women out there who are christions where any type of head covering...i think may dad once told me about mennonites wearing them but i can't remember...

Is it basically the western places that decided the head covering weren't necessary?

The Amish and Mennonites do. Alot of Mediterranean Christians cover their hair. Nuns often do. Orthodox married Jewish women do. I could go on and on.

My wife was born in Sicily and the women in her family (who are devout catholics) still to this day wear head coverings. She converted to Islam before she met me, but she always wore the head scarf.

My friends mom is 7 day adventist(I am not sure about the spelling) And she wears a head scarf.

Not me, but this comes from the NT where women of that era were told to cover their heads when they prophesies.
