I will assume you have a PC-based computer.
Go to your Windows desktop to an area with no icons. Do a single right mouse click, which will bring up a box. Click on "Properties," which is the bottom item. That calls up a box that can control your display. At the top of this box is a row of tabs -- click the tab on the right, called "Properties."
On the lower left inside this box is the selection for color depth. On my computer, I can select between "High Color (16 bit)" and "True Color (32 bit)". Your computer may have these and/or other settings. Select the setting you want, then click the "Apply" box on the lower right.
If your computer has the right hardware, you should be ready to go with higher color depth. If you do not get these selections, then you need a new graphics card that has more power. Write down all the information you can find about your computer and go to a computer store to ask about what is available for your computer. Better still, take your computer to the store and have them install and set up the new card.
However, it's possible that your computer already has what you need.
Good luck!
