I have done the McD's thing and am currently serving in the US Army. McD's is more boring, my Army is a lot harder (depends on your MOS). I'm deployed and an NCO so I make more money in the Army.

Why ask?

From what I understand a McDonald's employee has the potential to make more money in the beginning than one of our soldiers. If a soldier wants a long term career in the Armed Forces...the potential of earning more escalates with the amount of time that they are in service.
Who works harder????
Well not to say that the good ol' McD's employee doesn't work hard but I would like to think that our service men work fairly hard whether they are state side or on mission...and I would like to say they are working for the greater good!!
The best way to find a true answer to this is to ask someone who has done both.....

a foot soldier makes more then a McDonald's employee, a soldier get way better benefits and your college is paid for, plus you get training on any job that you want. you cant beat the military three meals a day, a cot to sleep on, and a monthly check. i don't think you
can get that at McDonald's. the military works alot harder than a McDonald's employee cause you don't have a set shift. plus you might have to leave home for months or weeks at a time. have to endure various environments.

Who makes more money?

I have a good example:

I have a daughter who work at Burger King (same pay scale as Mc Donalds)..

Her younger sister is married to a soldier. He is an E-3. He makes almost double what what his sister-in-law makes.

As to who works harder:

When I was in the service, back in the 60's, we had a saying
"In the army there is only one day a year that you really have to
work, and if you can't goof off on that day, there is something
wrong with you". That's a fallacy, of course. But it is the same
in civilian. Actually it is more prevalent in civilian life.

But, to compare the work they actually do and say that one
works harder than the other is like comparing apples to
oranges. The work is obviously different.

Depends on whether the soldier is married and what rank they are.

Assuming an unmarried E-1 through E-4:

Who works harder? The soldier.
Who makes more money per hour? The McDonald's employee.

There are people available that do prefer help.. unmarried mothers with a pair childrens who won't be in a position to have the money for daycare.. stuff like that.. the government can help her pay for her daycare so she will bypass to artwork and help her childrens.. There are people who want a splash help so as that they could look after themselves and their childrens.. as for the douche luggage that artwork the equipment.. reason they're lazy pigs... or wellfare mothers that have 4 or 5 childrens for the soul purpose of living off of government advantages.. i could elect to confirm some variety of equipment put in place to keep away from that crap.. so as that the people who prefer the help so as that they could artwork and do greater valuable can get it..

Oh please! That's a ridiculous question. A foot soldier earns more (you have to look at the benefits as well as the base pay) and they by far work harder as well.

Mickey D's pays better than the common solider earns. At MacDonald's you go to work , do your shift and go home. You can call in sick or just decided to not go in if you feel like it. Soldiers don't get those options. A shift for them could last days before they get to rest.
