My daughter is 25 and has developed bald patches on the crown and nape of her hair. She's been told it's stress related and will grow back but she's really down about it. Does anyone know of any herb, or perhaps aromotherapy massage (or any alternative treatment that can help)? I'd be grateful for any advice I can give her, thanks a lot.

I learned in cosmetology school that the only proven way to regrow hair is rogain or the generic version of rogain. Although, rogain is not for balding patches, only for thinning over all of the head or just the part gradually getting wider. Anything you buy at a salon will be expensive and really doesn't work. Maybe scalp treatments could help. I don't think they will though.

I don't know of any magic herbs or aromatherapy to correct baldness, but it doesn't seem logical for a woman so young to develop bald spots from stress. Stress is a known cause of hair loss among women, but the fact that she has splotches of hair missing leads me to believe she might have some other disorder. I would suggest that she seek counsel from several different dermatologists, maybe one specializing in hair and scalp.

I have a lot of good hair loss information on battleagainstbald.com, which is the blog I have maintained ever since receiving a hair restoration surgery. In addition to showing the results of my transplantation, I also provide of wealth of information specific to women and hair loss.

Best of luck to your daughter!

I used to have a problem similar tothe one you are telling me and when I lived in England there was a product which was found in drugstores in small green bottles which helped me a lot. Unfortunately at the moment I don't remember the name I live in Mexico and cant find it here. maybe you can go to the drugstore and ask for a hair tonic and they will suggest some.there is also another from garnier products for hair loss.I am just remembering that the bottle i am telling you was like 25 centimeters tall and you put it on drops.

see a nutritionist who can advise on diet changes and supplements to help the body deal with the damaging side effects of stress, try to look at whats causing the stress and alleviate it. Also look up Adrenal fatigue on the internet it gives very good insight into the effects of stress on the body and how to help combat them. Lastly this happened to afriend of mine and seriously once she had accepted her bald spots and started to have fun again her hair grew back. Its important not to get trapped in the distress or the baldness will get worse. Good luck

She also may be allergic to some chemicals, so avoid branded shampoos, and get a medicated one from your doctor. Dying your hair, never helps, so suggest for her not to this, and get a allergic test done also will help see if some foods, start off the flamination.
