I have been having councelling for depression but find it impossible to talk to her. I can only talk to one person as a friend who is the university chaplain, but he will be leaving to work at a local church. No one else not even my family will acknowledge that i have a problem. Anyway is it right to ask if i can still see him when he leaves if something is wrong?

I think he would be real disappointed if you did not seek him out, That is what he is there for and i think he would feel honored that you turn to him in your time of needs. There is nothing wrong with it, especially if it is going to help you. Good luck

Well you know you should what you feel like doing but if i was in your shoes i would go and see him, my counceller why im saying this is if look for a new counceller the thought of explaining everything to him or her again so personally its up to you to do whats right and at the same time you can tell your family in due time if you feel they should at that moment and time about your problem because its a big decision you are taking.

I hope this helps you

It's wrong, proffesionally you would put him at risk. Talk to your GP and seek medical help, depression is an illness and can be treated with medication which are non addictive. you could attend the church however if it's local, then you would be entitled to help from him and parishoners, be sure it's help you need and that you don't fancy him though.

I certainly don't think it would be wrong to ask, and you have nothing to lose by trying. If you believe that he is helping you, then I would certainly ask if he would be willing to continue helping. Good luck.

I should think so, he does the Lord's work, and it doesn't matter where he is.
