A friend of mine has had lower back problems for years (he is in his sixties). It has slipped out a few times. He has had back surgery, but it didn't really help much. Is there anyway to help his pain go down?

I have lower back pain also ... i see a chropractor (but thats not for everyone)
Believe it or not , the more stressed you are about the back pain the worse it is ....
If he can work through the pain ... some gentle stretching, not too much with hands over the head.
Walking slowly can help ease pain after a while also, if he can manage to walk without limping.

A warm bath or heatbag, coolbag on the area can help also.

If you use lobelia inflata in a tea, you can have a couch made of concrete and after one cup of this tea, you will think the concrete couch is the softest thing you ever sat on. Lobelia inflata grows all over the U.S. You can go on the internet and look it up and it will show what it looks like and where it grows. If you need more info, email me and I will answer that way, because the last two times I gave a website that actually helps people I was given violations as spam and advertisement. All I wanted to do was give people with serious problems a reliable place to look up a place that sells herbs that actually work and help them live normal lives. Some people just want a miracle drug, not an herb that has been around since the dawn of time. Lobelia inflata is the strongest natural muscle relaxant in the world. good luck, may fortune smile upon you always.

When I have back pain, I like to lie down in embryo-position. That tends to relax the muscles and brings some relief. I also found a good warm bath helpful. However, I do not have pain anywhere as strong as you describe. Better call your doctor.

I have chronic back problems also, 2 major back surgeries last yr. they ended up fusing my lumber (lower back). If i were you i would go to a back specialist and see what he can do that the other one didn't do. Also, go to a pain clinic or pain doctor to get meds with the pain.

Proper exercise, but don't do it wrong. Get a good book like Back Pain Remedies for Dummies or Rx for the back. Follow the exercise program and be careful.

Once at school, my back hurt really bad...so ,in a class that i don't mind being embarrassed in, I leaned backwards over a chair and sat like that until class started and I felt much better for the rest of the day.

1) Lose weight--any extra weight can case strain

2) Get a firm bed that doesn't sag--the more it sags, the more strain it will put on the body.

3) Physical therapy--look into it (for him)

4) Heat--find something that works. Don't overmedicate.
