I have used murphy's oil and it leaves my floor sticky. Now the shine is gone.

I have found a great product for bring back the shine to dulled hardwood floors. Orange Glo/Swiffer makes a product specifically designed for hardwood floors. It looks alot like the Swiffer Battery Operated Mop but it comes in an orange and blue box and says it is specifically for laminate and hardwood floors. It is a complete cleaning system in one: Mop, applicator, and cleanser. I find it leaves my floors devoid of any residue, they are completely clean, and there is a great shine that lasts for about a week on high traffic floors.

The starter kit costs about 20 bucks and the refills run about 10 for the cleanser and 6 for the disposable pads. But I think it is really worth it.

Hope this Helps!

Clean it with a light solution of ammonia and water.
Removes all of the old junk. Get some paste wax and rent a buffer and use all of the elbow grease you have. That will give a beautiful shine.
Or you can give it a good cleaning and the use polyurethane to put a permanent shine back on. If you really want it nice lightly sand before and put on about 3 coats and buff each coat after
drying with 0000 steel wool. Your floors will look like glass. MAKE SURE IT'S INDOOR POLYURETHANE.

If you do the poly you will probably never have to worry again.
