Well, while the Turkey is always a wonderful thing, we do tend to have that more often here than many families. Turkey is a cheap and affordable meat that can do a LOT of things, so we have it every few months.

For me it's the Fruit Salad. That's more expensive, so we only have it on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Ingredients:
2 Naval Oranges
1 LB seedless purple grapes
1 can diced pineapple
3 bananas
1 bag mini marshmellows
1 pint heavy whipping cream

Pour the pineapple (juice and all) into a large mixing bowl. Peel and slice the oranges to a similar size as the pineapple peices. Then cut the grapes into quarters. You want all three items to be about equal amounts in the bowl. Put in the fridge (covered) overnight. On the day you will serve, Whip the cream, but do NOT add any sugar. Drain the juice from the bowl of mixed fruit into a pitcher or punch bowl. (more on this later) Add the whipped cream to the mixed fruit. Then slice in the bananas and add the marshmellows. Stir well and chill.
To the punch bowl of juice add cranberry juice and gingerale for a nice alcohol free punch. (Vodka blends well for those NOT looking for alcohol free.)

My mother makes killer stuffing... I can't wait for it. We're Italian, so we have turkey and some kind of pasta. This year I'm making lasagna. That is always good.
