I have to say Scientology. From previous responses, I'd say you have a winner.

I guess I could say Christianity, but since that'll probably be a popular one to say, I'll offer a little insight to the outrageous claims of some Buddhist texts.
Okay, so there is this Buddhist text called the nirvana sutra, it's full name is the Mahayana Mahaparinirvana Sutra, and basically it is the Buddha teaching his disciples on the last day he spends on earth before he becomes, you know, like fully immortal or something. But anyways, it says that where the Buddha would give his teachings, 80 billion hundred thousand bhiksus were present.
Ok, so I'm not sure what 80 billion hundred thousand actually is, I think it is 80 billion times(?) a hundred thousand, so like 80,000,000,000 X 100,000 = 8,000,000,000,000,000, so that is 8 quadrillion Bhiksus, that means 8 quadrillion fully enlightened saints. And that was only the holy men, there were also lots more layman present. And amazingly enough, the Buddha was able to speak in such a way that everyone heard what he had to say.
Now what is interesting is that before the Buddha started speaking, the other citizens ask the Buddha and plead with him to stay on earth, because they would be afraid if he left. Now, Christians believe that Jesus Christ needs to come back in order for us to be saved, but what about Buddhists? 8 quadrillion saints were alive, but the citizens were still scared for the buddha to leave.
Don't get me wrong, I respect the Buddha and his teachings and think that it is an enlightening religion, but it just goes to show you that religions can have some outrageous stories in them, and the practical advice should be taken as serious and not be drowned down by the the stories that don't always make sense.

The guy that started Scientology grew up 7 miles away from me. He was going to donate money to the city, but only if they put the Laws of Scientology around the baseball field. THEY SAID NO WAY!
L. Ron Hubbard is a very creepy guy. He said he will come back on a space ship to unite with his followers after he died!

This is going to be fun to watch!
Moses going up the mountain and being handed tablets with the ten commandments on them by God himself is pretty outrageous stuff especially when Moses subsequently smashed the first set and had to get a replacement set, it all sounds so outrageously amateurish and ham fisted.
