The seeming conflict of these three religions is highlighted in the Middle East especially in Jerusalem. But to say that the problems lies in religion is failure to understand and to see the total picture. Religion or the love for a particular religion is just being used by radicals and extremist to promote their ideology - and to whom? Those who experience social injustice. Thus the problem lies not on religion but the social injustices experienced by all sides. The Muslims feel that the Western World favors Israel too much. The Israelis feel that they are a roden in a den of tigers. And Christians feel that they are being left out of the picture.
And this kind of situation is being repeated in different parts of the world with roles reversing and counter-reversing.

OOPs, I'm not an atheist, but I'm answering anyway, but you probably expected us Christians to answer also.
First of all I would hardly call the CROSS a stick. It was very heavy and usually took more than one person to carry, but they made Jesus carry it alone most of the way.
Secondly, you are correct, to an extent. There is only 1 God, we all worship the same God. Many of the different Religions/Faiths on Earth are centered on the same God, just the way we worship Him is different.
Third, we are not at war over Religion. We are at war because some terrorists in the guise of Religion attacked America killing innocent people just because we are different from them and they do not like the way we live.

All I see, the ones who are fighting or pretend to fight are in the same payroll and don't give a damn about God.
All of the actual followers of the words delivered by Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad actually live relatively quite peacefully with each other.

I don't think it's funny. It's just sad. Not because of their different versions, but because war is being fought with a smokescreen that honors things from the past, true or not.

well, i'm not atheist but read my answer anyway. i think the problem is that that one small fact can basically change everything. christians believe that u have to have had jesus as a saviour to go to heaven, so basically if u don't believe in him u aren't gonna go to a good place, so even if being jewish or muslim is only slightly different, your eternal life after death is thought to be ..not in heaven. and the same goes for those of the jewish and muslim faith. the slightest different interpretation can make the biggest differences.

You forgot a major relgion that is causing just as much trouble when in comes to the new religious war and intolerance that would be Athiests. They have joined a war against religion and we dont need more wars. They are just as bad as the worst of the nuts who call there own quest for power a relgion. Its the same thing.Just as they bang people over there heads and refuse to live and let live So do YOU. My proof is your question. Your questions define who you are. Not the answers.

War isn't caused by religion, it has always been about breeding space. It also ensures the 'fountain of youth' -how far is that from old-fashioned witchery??
Oops just noticed you were addressing atheists. Not atheist.

Yes I find it very amusing that these people go to war over details. Don't you also find it funny that people wear crosses and crucifixes and celebrate these methods of execution? I think they should all wear little electric chairs or lethal injection tables! lol
