It's not just weird, it's cruel. The dog could still chew the nail polish off and be ill. Dogs are not humans and shouldn't be treated as such. If I saw a dog with painted nails I would seriously question the responsibility of the owner. Dogs that are treated like this are often substituted for humans so maybe she getting broody lol.

It's completely safe, people polish or dog polish. There is a third alternative which is nail covers which come in different colors. They go over the dogs nails after being trimmed and last about 2 weeks. The nice thing about this option is that they keep you from being scratched as they aren't sharp.

I hope it is safe. I don't know why it wouldn't be. I have painted my dogs nail. But make sure the polish doesn't annoy your dog. One of my dogs went into a sneezing fit when I tried to paint her nails.

Yes. That is how my sister distinguishes who bought what pup or kitten when she has litters to get rid of. Different nail polish per puppy/kitten. Never hurt them. If the dog has an issue and chews it off, don't do it again. Repeat ingestion of the polish can become harmful and don't use nail polish remover to take it off.

yes, proffesional groomers do it all the time. but be sure to buy your polish from a groomer, groomer supply store,or pet store. i tried this once on a poodle we had with regular nail polish, needless to say the dog was not happy with the strong offensive smell
