Yes and no, If it is done by choice it's ok but if it is forced upon society it is bad.
What has been happening is by force and it is making life bad for everyone.
People should have the choice of who they accept as friends and the space to get away from each other if necessary.

getting along with each other seems to be the golden rule, so maybe nature is directed at this, as for humanity and integration, well, I think that's caused by people unable to understand everyone else. The unknown keeps mankind in fear, and this is what happens with foriegn nations. The more integrated society becomes, the better off we will be, but this won't happen overnight and it won't be very pretty, but since mankind has yet to fall off the face of the earth, I have a fairly strong belief that mankind will work itself out. Either that or there will be so many fast food chains that every immigrant will have a job.

Integration should be the ultimate goal. We are of differant nations and differant tongues (languages) but we are all born under God. Racism to me is a failure. Hatred is failure in it's worst form. masalam

This is a very heavy duty question, I'll have to add to this answer later.
With all the wishful thinking, it will take another 100 yrs. or more, perhaps never, as we don't even like our very next door neighbor.

no. it's disappointing. there will always be segments of each race culture, society, class, caste, etc. that will always make the choice to be seperatists, elitists or just unwilling to become part of a single collective entity.

if you ask a scared little coward who is afraid of melenin I suppose your answer would be yes. If you ask someone with courage and integrity and a trust in Gods plan then the answer whould be NO. Your answer depends on your charecter courage and the abilty to face change. Is your life based on fear? Or is your life based on courage? THat is your answer and it depends on what you are.
