Malachi 1:11 – For from the rising of the sun even to the going down, my name is great among the Gentiles, and in EVERY PLACE there is SACRIFICE, and there is offered to my name a CLEAN oblation: for MY NAME IS GREAT AMONG THE GENTILES, saith the Lord of hosts.

NOTICE IT IS NOT PRAYER BUT SACRIFICE THAT IS CLEARLY MENTIONED HERE! Neither is it the sacrifice in the Temple in Jerusalem for that is no longer possible and it is possible only in 1 time zone.

It's the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass! The Mass is a sacrifice, offered every day throughout the world. Yep, those crazy Catholics got it right, once again!

Defenition of the Mass:

The Mass is the sacrifice of Jesus' Body and Blood, at Calvary, under the appearances of bread and wine, offered by Jesus, the perfect priest, through a priest, in obedience to His Father's will, for the glory of God and salvation of souls.

I think it's beautiful.

God Bless, and good point you brought up there.

The imperfect sacrifice offered without sincerity by the people of Judah are displeasing to the Lord. God will rather be pleased with the offering of the Gentile nations throughout the world (from the rising sun, even to its setting) which anticipate the pure offering to be sacrificed in messianic times, the Universal Sacrifice of the Mass.

first to answer this question it would help to know the time in history the message was given so to be more sure of the answer however, and I am guessing here, This word from God was confined to the time period in which it was given.. The whole book is a warning and about Jews falling short of what was required.

Prayer can be sacrifice, a sacrifice of time and energy sometimes for days in one prayer.

Other than after the Cross I do not know of a time when the God of Israel was great among the Gentiles so remember the [ppeakers are not always aware of the meanings of what they communicate, and remember from where God speaks time is very different than it is experienced by us.

I am certain I am creating questions and not answers but it is good to continually have questions running round in ones head otherwise when the answwr pops up you might miss it

remember life is just a bowl of querys

This prophetic passage announced God's intention to eternally fulfill the Jewish Passover Celebration through Jesus Christ, at the Last Supper, and to distribute the fruits thereof to all the gentile nations of the world.

The Last Supper is the direct spiritual equivalent of Christ's perfect sacrifice on the cross, as is the Catholic Mass, which is the definitive method of worship, praise, and thanksgiving, prescribed by Christ himself for his universal, New Covenant Church.

"Do this in memory of me."

Malachi 1:11 – For from the rising of the sun even to the going down ...

The Catholic Mass is the authentic re-presentation of Jesus Christ's eternal, once for all sacrifice for sin at Calvary, and is celebrated every hour of every day, 24/7, all around the world.

my name is great among the Gentiles ...

The Catholic Church is the Church which converted the whole world for Christ. The Mass gives correct praise, worship, and thanksgiving to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

and in EVERY PLACE there is SACRIFICE ...

The Catholic Church exists in every country in the known world, and everywhere a Catholic priest exists, whether or not a church building is present there, the Mass is celebrated on a daily basis.

Because Jesus Christ IS the eternal, once-for-all sacrifice of Calvary, made truly present on the altar through the authority of the Church, the actions of the priest, and the power of the Holy Spirit, the Mass constitutes a TRUE SACRIFICE.

and there is offered to my name a CLEAN oblation: for MY NAME IS GREAT AMONG THE GENTILES, saith the Lord of hosts ...

At Mass, pure bread and pure wine becomes the real, authentic and substantial body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ ... the only sacrifice perfect enough to be acceptable to God the Father ... a truly "clean oblation".

"Host" is indeed the name we Catholics give to the physical form of the holy thing we offer to God, and receive from him, in return.

The context and the timing of this prophecy all point to only one person, only one blessed event, and only one Church ... Jesus Christ, the perfect and eternal sacrifice for sin, and the Catholic Church, all of which God surely had in mind before he laid the foundations of the earth.

Today, if Jehovah asked the question, “Where is the fear of me?” could any people reply, ‘Here we are, the ones who fear you’? Most definitely! Who? Jehovah’s faithful witnesses, who are found in all parts of the earth. This international group of people and the work they would do was foretold at Malachi 1:11: “‘For from the sun’s rising even to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and . . . a presentation will be made to my name, even a clean gift; because my name will be great among the nations,’ Jehovah of armies has said.”—See also Psalm 67:7; Isaiah 33:5, 6; 59:19; Jeremiah 32:39, 40.

That is the gift of making Jehovah's name Known.

If you read the original Hebrew, it has connentations of animals being set aside to be brought as sacrifices to G-d, in the time of the Second Temple. And while the specifics are no longer possible, the idea remains: You Gentiles pray, and are in awe of your god, while we can't concentrate for 10 minutes on part of prayer.

God wants us to realize how great He is, and when we give an offering, we are to do so with His greatness in mind. The offerings Israel made at this time were not done with a right heart. They were becoming indifferent toward God and the way they conducted their lives. They were treating the commands of God with familiarity and carelessness. They came to look upon them as simply ordinary. Thus, He says that He has no pleasure in Israel and would not accept their offerings.

Israel profaned God's name by giving offerings in a lying and deceitful attitude, They kept the best animals for themselves while offering blemished ones to God. We fear God's name, not only by keeping all of God's law—including the statutes and judgments (Deuteronomy 28:58)—but also by giving God our best effort in doing His will.

To start with, I suggest that you get a Bible written in modern English. Sacrifice is worship. On the other hand , prayer is a request.

Jesus Christ says in John 4:21 that Jerusalem is no more a olace of worship. In fact, there is no physical place of worship. "GOD is Spirit, and his worsippers must worship in spirit and in truth" John 4:24.

its not really talking about ONLY ONE time zone... when the bible says from the rising to the setting of the sun .. it just means ALL THE TIME.. it's literature

there are sacrifices described in the New Testament but keep them in context

Matthew 9:13
Go and learn what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."

Paul said we should be 'living sacrifices' in Romans
Paul also said his life was in a sense being poured out as an offering..

so... they are not substitutions for sin...that is paid for... but there can be a sacrifice of thanks and praise and things like that... not all sacrifices are for atonement
