My boyfriend snores. I can't sleep when he does. I've tried earplugs, a fan next to the bed, and even a sleep aid. It's horrible and keeps me up all night. We've been together one year and get along great otherwise! But I can't sleep with him when I'm at his house and so I sleep in the guest room. We're talking about moving in together, but how on earth are we ever going to live together if we can't even sleep together?

You have to sleep in the spare room or go mad. Thats it. The doctor idea is a reallly good one too. Pushing them a little in their sleep only works until you are nearly asleep and then it starts again making you insane.

Sounds as if you already tried the initial things to try. I would suggest taking him to the doctor. He should have a sleep study done. Then then can go from here. It might include a C-Pap machine, medications, simple surgery to correct the problem.

One more thing to try at this time would be, when he snores, reach over and gently push him slightly. He will most likely roll over then. This can help him repostion. And stop the snore for a while.

You will probably continue to sleep alone until HE considers getting you back in his bed a priority.... not to mention improving his own health. He may need to lose weight. He may have sleep apnea, which is treatable and can be deadly if left untreated for years. He may have allergies. Doctors can offer many options for treatment IF he is willing to keep searching and follow through on the suggestions until he finds one that works. If one doctor cannot help, keep looking until you find one who can help. Snoring is NOT normal - and can be very harmful to his health and the health of anyone he is keeping awake.

If I'm asleep before my husband starts snoring it doesn't bother me. If he starts before I get to sleep I try to get him to roll over on his side. He doesn't snore in that position. Good luck and I feel for you!!

I had the same trouble. What you do is smother him in his sleep, then he'll never snore again.
