Don't feel bad about the money. I know many people have this stigma about young adults like you and I being freeloaders and not independent, but that's not the case...you just came about a hard time, and in life, you have to take risks once and a while. So it didn't work out this time...that's okay, it's a learning experience. And that's what parents are there for - to help, because no matter how old you are, you are still their son.
I would accept the money, and just be open with them. Communicate that you felt you needed to take a risk at the point in your life, but it didn't work out the way you planned. Hopefully, they will understand...I mean, you're still pretty young, and it makes sense that you are trying new things at this point in your life. If you feel bad about taking the money, I would suggest promising to pay them back when you get back on your feet again. That's what I would do.

If you didn't need help you wouldn't have ever mentioned your financial problem in the 1st place. That's what family is for. If they can't afford it, say half would be nice. Maybe you should work for a temp service for what lil they will give you, if you're too proud do that don't take their $$$$ This is an option I've found handy. If this new co. Is going to be a risk forever, loose your friend because this will be expected everytime you turn around. Has his or hers ever offered to help????????If not you're a sucker. Been there done that, w/out help.

well when you get back on your feet, it would be a nice idea to pay them back for starters. then, send them a nice fruit basket or something and a card saying thank you. but if you live close enough then after paying them the money take them out to a nice dinner.

Get a part-time job if you're so embarrassed. Surely there will be a lot more openings over the holidays.

I would let them know that you are grateful for the money but tell them you will pay it back in installments or something. Or you could do jobs for them if you live close enough.
Thats what I do with my parents, they loan me money and I pay it back when I have enough. I think its sweet your parents are willing to give you so much, please dont blow it for yourself. :)
