If you mean the litter box it needs changing daily & scooping whenever a deposit is made.
If you mean the cats' bed it will need the bedding changed daily or more often too. You may have to use two blankets at a time & change one/replace one.

Start out by buying a good clumpable litter like Fresh Step Scoopable Cedar. It's awesome. I have 5 cats and 4 litter boxes and scoop every 2 - 3 days and there is NO odor. Now since your mama cat and kittens will all be using the same box for a while, I would recommend scooping daily.

I'm pretty sure you are talking about the box she had them in. Is there bedding in there? If there is, it should be changed every couple of days. Try not to handle the kittens too much in the first few weeks. Just roll up the blanket and put it beside them and then quickly scoot them over, pull out the old one and flatten out the new one. If you do it when mum is off feeding it will be a lot easier.

I'm assuming you mean the litter box. Please don't use clumping litter as the babies could accidentally eat it and it could really hurt them. I would definitely clean it out daily and change it completely weekly if not more often. Once the kittens get bigger, you may want to get extra boxes as some cats will go potty outside the box if they think it's too crowded. I've read you should have as many litter boxes as cats, plus one extra. I have 4 cats and 6 litter boxes and haven't had any innappropriate pooping so far.

You should change it at least every other day now, cause the feses can make you sick and could possibly make the kittens sick.
