Satan was not the "best" but the most beautiful and he held a posistion that was one of the highest, a "coverer" Angels worshiped God like they do now before humans existed. Satan's source of greed and pride is from himself.

What you are talking about is wicked, bad people, which is more realistic than an actual demon that controls the realm of eternal hell.
Do wicked people feel insecure? Yeah, about life and their own existence.
Why does he fear things? Probably out of self-hate.
Is he desperate? Yeah, but sadly in a way that might be contradictory to what people believe. A wicked person is not desperate for evil, but more like he is desperate for compassion, just in a wrong way, caused by any number of reasons. For example, a man that absuses himself is desperately searching for reassurance that he is alive, but rather than doing this in a pleasurable way, he finds pain to be more his liking. That is why it is important for man to hold firm to his beliefs and cultivate respect for himself and not become engrossed in perversive behavior.
What is a wicked person's goals? Mostly bad things that normal people try to avoid. Maybe it is to have relationships with a young female, or to steal money, or to just be foul. Either way, it is not worth desiring, so if the wicked person actually gained what he wanted, it would be worse for him.
I'm not sure what you mean by exploring another dimension of humanity, maybe the dimension of evil, which is pointless and base IMO.
Does he himself suffer? Yeah, I think a wicked person suffers just by being alive. It's sad.
Regardless of whether or not he is evil, any man that does not love himself will have a hard time dealing with himself, and if he has no respect for himself whatsoever, it probably means he hates his life.
God is hard to understand, and life is a bitter struggle for realization, so it is no surprise that a man who does not hold firm to his beliefs could run into error, but this is only my opinion.
I think your statement is the most interesting. Perhaps a wicked person wants to share his pain, and maybe that is why he hurts other people. So asking the question, where does evil come from if God exists, obviously from evil men.
Very good questions, keep it up!

Every culture has a sense of good and evil, but your request is directed to Christians specifically so let me answer from the Biblical point of view.
Is 33:11, 14 who of us can live with the everlasting flames
Mt 25:41, depart, you accursed into the eternal fire
Mt 25: 46, these will go off to eternal punishment
Lk 3:16-17, the chaff He will burn in unquenchable fire
2 Thes 1:6-9, these will pay the penalty of eternal ruin.
1 Jn 5:16-17, degrees of sin distinguished
Jam 1:14-15, when sin reaches maturity gives birth to death
Mt:12:32, sin against Holy Spirit unforgiven in this age and next
1 Cor 3:15, suffer loss, but saved as through fire
Rev 21:27, nothing unclean shall enter into heaven.
To discover the origins of evil look to self without Love.
God is Love.
Sin is a greater Evil than its punishment. The worse evil is not Hell, but sin. Socrates, "it is better to suffer evil than to do it".
Saint Thomas Aquinas, Actively to oppose uncreated good (God Himself) is more evil than to be deprived of it passively.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.
Love and blessings

SATANS NAME IS LISTED 55 TIMES IN 49 VERSES. ALSO CONSIDER THE OTHER NAMES HES REFERED TO AS , BAAL FOR EXAMPLE, AND THE NUMBER GOES UP. PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST, AS TO RANKING THE ANGELS, WHATS IMPORTANT HERE IS THAT HE WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO GOD AND GODS PLANS , YET HE FELL AND FELL HARD. HE THOUGHT AND STILL THINKS THAT HE CAN DO AS GOOD A JOB AS GOD IS DOING. IT WASN'T UNTIL JESUS DIED AND WAS RESURRECTED THAT SATAN WAS FINALLY DEFEATED. PRIOR TO THAT TIME HE AND THE FALLEN WOULD BANG , THUMP, THE WALLS OF HEAVEN LOOKING TO REENTER. WEREN'T ALLOWED. INSECURE, FEARFUL, DESPERATE? DIFFICULT TO SAY. I WILL SAY THAT HE MIGHT BE FEELING FEARFUL NOW, BECAUSE THESE ARE THE END TIMES. HE HAS TO KNOW AND FEEL HOW CLOSE THE LAKE OF FIRE IS. READ EZEKIAL. ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FACETS OF THID DISCUSSION IS TO NOTE THAT HE IS AN ANGEL, AND TO ANSWER ANOTHER FACET OF YOUR QUESTION, HE IS THE ANTICHRIST. THE HUMAN BODY IS NOW ALIVE AND WELL, MY GUESS , SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND AT SOME POINT IMMEDIATELY PRIOR OR AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF TRIBULATIONS SATAN WILL WALK IN THE FLESH. THEN THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTE HELL ON EARTH, UNLIKE ANYTHING EVER SEEN BEFORE. SEVEN YEARS OF TERROR. ALL REMAINING JEWS AND ALL CONVIENENT CHRISTIANS WILL BE BE DONE AWAY WITH. MARK OF THE BEAST, BIBLICAL PROPHECIES FULFILLED. AS THE SAYING GOES, KEEP YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE AND YOUR ENEMIES CLOSER. UP TO A POINT. SATAN IS THE MASTER OF DECEPTION AND THE FATHER OF ALL LIES, KEEP THOSE WORDS IN THE FOREFRONT OF YOUR MIND. ANY MORE HELP THAT I CAN BE OF , GET IN TOUCH AND LET ME CLOSE WITH JAMES 4:7 SUBMIT YOURSELVES THEREFORE TO GOD. RESIST THE DEVIL, AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU. THAT'S GODS LAW, HE HAS TO.....
IN JESUS NAME

nicely Sara you should understand the nature of an Angelic being to appreciate why devil and his fallen Angels can by no potential be forgiven. An Angel compared to ourselves has finished and sparkling understanding of what it potential to revolt adverse to God and in view that they have a a lot larger mind and self know-how they could't go with that they could flow decrease back on at some later time, once an Angel comes to a decision an action that action is binding for all eternity. devil can't seek for forgiveness any more effective than you or i might want to by wonder bounce from earth to the moon, an Angels determination is fastened as quickly because that is been made, we besides the undeniable fact that being decrease than an Angel and by no potential having their tremendous powers of mind may be forgiven because we own the flexibility to repent by accepting Gods grace. God bless you.

everything angels, men and otehr thigns were created good but with the ability to fall and become corrupt. Satan probably was done in by pride.
people actually cant pass off their own sin as the fault of the devil... it is their own sinful desires that lead them astray..
the solution is a change of desires Satan proabbly used pride to get to Adam and Eve "The lust of the eyes, the lust of the heart and the boastful pride of life" in James
buy glorifying God leaning on the work of Jeus on the cross, God changes our hearts as a work of grace as we believe for eternal life

God created him to be the most beautifu creature. he was the morning star. Angels did what they do now, worship God without seasing. Satan's greed was he wanted the angels to worship him. and his pride came about his beauty. no and yes. he is desperate to gain souls because he knows his end is near. he knows that he cannot win. his goal is to destroy mankind. he is evil do yu know the story of jeffrey donner? what about wayne williams, just to name a few. evil is created in our own minds, and the demonic forces egg us on until we do it. think of good things, and good things will happen for you. read i chron. 21:1 and Mat 12:26.

He is the great deceiver. As he deceived Adam and Eve into sin, he keeps the good news that Christ died for your sins and that if you will repent of your sins and trust Jesus to save you on Judgment Day, he will. Alot of people won't believe the good news of Jesus because of the deceiver. He is so deceptive that many people don't even think Satan exists.
