Typical controlling boyfriend behaviour.... always needing to know exactly where you are and what you are doing - not wanting you to have other friends or anything that takes your attention away from him - often accompanied by a fierce temper ( not necessarily violent at this point ) but most men that are described as this are not gentle, easy going fellows.

My advice? ' Run, Forest, Run!!!!'

Seriously, this is only the beginning...I was married for 8 years and wasted most of them with a very controlling man who started out as a slightly controlling boyfriend - it aint fun.

Hi,
I don't have one, but my sister-in-law is married to one and I've had friends who have gone out with some so here are some things I've seen.

1. Tell you who you can be with.
2. Won't allow you out with your girlfriends.
3. Thinks that just because you're around a male, you're having a relationship with him or that you want to.
4. Controls where your money goes, what you're going to spend it on.
5. Tells you what to wear.
6. Calls you all the time and then thinks you're with someone.

Hope that helps.
Jennifer

My husband is a little on the controlling side.

I'm not allowed to use the car I payed for because I came home 15 minutes after he told me to one night.

I have to get my tubes tied after this pregnancy because he doesnt want any more kids.

He's made me quit my job and he moved me out to the middle of nowhere, so there is nothing to do. Since I don't bring home any money any more he gets to call all the shots.

I guess he is a little controlling, but it's ok because I love him.

The fact that youre asking this tells me he is. Controlling guys start out very subtly and it grows and grows and doesnt stop until something very bad happens. Is he jealous, does he want to who you were talking to on the phone, does he want to know where you were every minute of the day, does he let you wear what you want, etc.\

If so nip it in the bud. I was with one and I didnt nip it and was very sorry in the end. End it now

A controlling boyfriend is the sort that needs to know where you and what you are doing all the time but doesnt always want to meet you and be with you. Mine was always texting me, constantly wanting to know who i was with, what i was doing and always thought he knew best. he also came across as incredibly clingy when i was with him and often made me feel that his opinion of my friends was the one that was right and i had to agree with it. In my opinion, they come across as clingy and over-protective, but you dont always realise until it becomes extreme. it took me 8 months to notice.
