I had my vasectomy back in 1987, when I was 21. I have no children (planned it that way). In 1993 a woman put my name on the birth certificate of her son. Needless to say, she attempted to score some child support. I know two others this sort of thing has happened to. Do you have a story?

I had fertility tests done as prescribed. I was clean.

She was trying to scam me. The real father even told me that she had planned on doing that because he didn’t have a job, or health insurance.

She totally knew I had a vasectomy. I had the most reliable vasectomy done; It was the kind where they remove a portion of the vas tube, and the ends were burned. She knew all this. I said before, she is a scammer.

yeah i have heard of this happening i havent had any woman say she had my child since i have had my vasectomy, but i have a good friend of mine that his ex girlfriend tried this to get him to stay with her he had an accident when he was a young man that prevented him from havnig children and at one point he was with a woman that they tried to have a child together but couldnt do it since he was unable to produce sperm, but when the paternity test came back and wasnt his he turned around and sued her and won since she had harrassed him at work and home even going to the point of calling his friends and family telling him that he was the father

Did she know about the vasectomy?? *L* Because if she didn't boy is she in for a surprise!

Did you take a dna test yet to prove her wrong?

I did see a case on Maury Povich where a man had a vasectomy and left his pregnant girlfriend because of it but they finally had a dna and it WAS HIS!

edited to add-

Some women are like that- they'd rather choose the 'best' father than to own up to the real one. That sucks, I'm glad I'm not a man! I'm positive my kid is my kid- a man just takes the word of the woman most of the time.

generally, it is not the vasectomy that went bad but a woman who didn't know that you had one or someone who went with someone else and is naming you. You can get a sperm count done on your semen and that will tell the true story; was a paternity test done? make sure to rule yourself out first then you can seek your legal options if you have now fathered a child. I know of a case similar and it turned out that she had the child not by the guy but by his brother; so things do happen; case was dismissed, and the divorce action began.

Did you have your sperm count tested AFTER the surgery? This is a critical check up that is often skipped with unwanted results.
