yeah, not so sure it is a good idea to take away the casing on a washer and dryer. There are apt size washers and driers that are intended for small places.

There are stack able ones. Used for small areas.
None can be unassembled to fit into smaller areas. spaces.

Your washing mashine doesn't require much maintenance other than cleaning, but you need to be able to clean your dryer vent. If you can't get in there to do that, it is a fire hazard.

You should also consider that a repair guy wouldn't be able to service your appliances when they go bad.

No. Don't even try it. You can't do it because ALL the parts are vital for the washer/dryer to work! :)
