Hmm... well, the newest car I own is a 1999 Grand Prix. Maybe you could try a ConvertiBeetle?

You get a 2002 Camaro Z28 in your price range, but I imagine you want a rice rocket. A big V8 is nice though, but we both know the quality is not really there, and they can be kinda fugly to some.
WRX - probably driven really hard
RSX - Type S may still be out of price range
Civic Si - no low end, but will run forever
Mazda - Protege underpowered - Miata kinda feminine
Prelude - not made in 2002, but I would do even if it is older
300zx - pretty, V6, but too old (1996) - maybe keep the Honda and spend only like 10k on a nice one of these
I say forget the year (unless financing will be too tough) and get the prelude or an older 300zx (twin turbos are fast, but expensive to fix and insure).

you'll see a ninety 8-02 LS1 Z28, Trans Am, or approach for round that value. Their all similar in %, yet a stripper (few thoughts) Z28 or a Ram-Air formula may be somewhat swifter out of the three. you may also come across a ninety 3-97's of an similar fashions, besides the undeniable fact that they have got an LT1 which isn't as speedy. though, you may want to favor up a rather pleasant one for below $7K and make investments $3500 to have cam/heads/finished exhaust set up for you (consisting of problematical artwork) and characteristic the relax to elevate the transmission. Mustangs are best also, and that i'm confident you receives some Ford adult adult males in good the following too, yet they don't look as solid inventory and may not be as speedy. i have obtrusive bone inventory LS1's run 12.9-13.2's contained in the a million/4 and besides the undeniable fact that get 26-28MPG. those were the 6 p.c.. fashions although, yet nonetheless. both attitude, you'll besides the undeniable fact that be speedy than all the options above. The 300ZX's are exceptional, yet reliability is an capture 22 concern, highly with a speedy kind. And heavily, a Prelude??? that is a Sporty automobile, yet by no potential is it a actual video games motorcar.

I had a 2000 toyota celica gts that was pretty fast (180 hp) and very reliable. You can probably find a 2002-03 celica gts for around $14000. Also, if you would settle for something a little older you could get a 1997-8 porsche boxter (205 hp) for about the same money.
