Ok Swastika itself is not German's symbol. It has been around centuries before Adolf was even born. We have so many Hindu temples (archeological sites) that were dated 600 - 800 yrs ago in our country and they carried swastika symbols on many of their statues or artifacts.
About the Nazi's Swastika, it's just a symbol that Hitler came to modify from another symbol that he saw somewhere in time. He borrowed it and coupled it with menace and hatred to create a holocaust.
Nazi didn't achieve anything, they sacrificed it all for one coward called Adolf Hitler who couldn't even face a failure. The party was aiming for good, until Hitler joined. I guess they put their trust on the wrong man, glad that he is dead.

Originally the Swastika symbol was used in ancient times (mainly on Gods in East Asian countries as a symbol of the Gods, of correctness, holyness and praise.
Of course, once the Nazi party stole it, it'll never be the same again. However, I don't think there's a need to HATE the sign. Its just lines, a pattern, that has been used for thousands of years. We need to hate what the Nazi party MADE it. Banning it does not solve the problem. Banning things is just covering them, rather than bringing them into the open, talking about them, discussing them, allowing future generations to have their own brain and make up their OWN mind and OWN opinions.
That's my opinion anyway. Of course, I'm not disputing that the Nazi party were evil, but the swastika was not THEIR symbol. They stole it, and stole it from the Gods, no less.

Swastika is a Hindu symbol of well being and gud fortune. Nazi idiots adopted it and therefore, the symbol lost its purity. For eg. i form a terrorist organization with any religious symbol (i wont mention it) as its flag. Will people abolish it? Will the people of that religion not worship it?. The same is wit us Hindus. Cowardly nincompoops like Adolf cant change a 4000 year old tradition

The Swastika is a Symbol that represent the Hindu god Shiva's, son Lord Ganesha, This symbol till date is marked outside majority Hindu households, as it symbolizes good luck and fortune, and people stick and draw this symbol as it is associated with lord Ganesha's blessings (he was also referred to the god of well being and good luck).
The major difference between the Nazi's Swastika & The Hindu Swastika Is that The Hindu One Comes With Four Dots(One In The Center Of Each Angle)

The Germans borrowed the swastika, I think it was actually some symbol used by Hindus which wasn't a bad thing. The Nazi's made it a symbol of hate and it's unfortunately still being used by white supremist groups today.

the swastika has been around for centuries much longer than when nazi germany decided to use it. it has long since been a symbol of power, protection, love etc. in many cultures the symbol is still used and they are surprised that americans look upon it as something bad. in india, mexico, korea and many other countries it is still used to day on temples, in decorations, in homes etc. its like anything whether a religion, a symbol or an idea....extremists can use it to promote something bad when in reality its not the religion, symbol or idea its the idiot extremists that is bad.

The Swastika as a symbol alone is pretty worthless.. but the idealogy that it represents is what is utterly disgusting. When Hitler chose it, he forever associated it with him and the Nazi movement. It symbolizes the hatred of one group of people toward others just because they're different...whether they're of a different color, or gender, or religion. Pathetic.
Just an aside to all you youngsters out there..one vote brought Hitler to power in Germany. One vote made him Chancellor.

I find it amusing that a symbol that's been used by many cultures for the past several thousand years is treated as if it's only connection was to one particular (nasty) country a half-century ago.
As far as it being linked to mass murder -- the Christian cross was also the symbol that justified the killing of millions of people over the past thousand years. Crusades, the Inquisition, etc. But we don't see people attempting to ban it just because some fanatics used it.
Hate the Nazis if you want. Sure, they probably even deserve it. But also recognize that the swastika predates that particular usage by thousands of years, and don't assume the everyone who still uses that ancient symbols should be treated the same.
