I need a theme for a bridal shower

Bridal Showers don't typically have themes, but they should fall in line with the overall feeling of the wedding. For example, if it is a formal wedding, it should be a more serious bridal shower. If the wedding is done in pink polka dots, try incorporating that into the look of the shower.

Don't worry about having a theme; just make sure the shower fits the wedding and fits the bride.

Something we have done a few times has been to have everyone have a theme for their gift. For example, each invitation is personalized with a theme like, Movie Night, and the gift giver can give a bucket with a dvd and some popcorn, or tickets to a movie. Or road trip, which could be some cds and a travel guide for the region and candy. Basically any kind of theme, and it can be for the bride, like Pamper Yourself, or more for the couple. Let me tell you, it is NOT fun buying bridal shower gifts usually- the wedding registry seems so impersonal. A lot of people thanked us for giving the theme ideas because it makes it much more fun to shop. Of course, give them the option to get their own gift, but the theme is just a suggestion.

Also, we have done whti trash wedding showers where we all dressed up like... white trash, and had games that were "trashy". NOt very culturally sensitive, but pretty fun.

Are you talking like a couples shower, or a kitchen shower, or a lingerie shower, or something like that? Those are the only "themes" I've seen, and the theme is usually centered around what gifts to bring. The purpose of a bridal shower is to literally "shower" the bride with gifts, no theme is really necessary.

No you don't need a theme . Have the bridal shower simple. Just play games have a set down meal for guests and that will attract more guests to bring grifts. Trust me i just had a wedding !

I just threw a shower with a tea party theme. We based it off of high tea, with cute tea cups, little sandwiches, salads, all different kinds of tea in funky tea pots. it was a blast.
if it's a couples shower, you could do the 'stock the bar' theme, where all the gifts are alcohol or things related.
hope this helps.

forgo the theme. just have the gathering with light refreshments and drinks, simple music and just having a reat time while the gifts pile in.

a couples shower? what's that? isn't it supposed to be an all women gathering? wow how things have changed.

i'd skip the shower altogether

Theme? You don't need a theme. Okay how about Star Trek - space weddings.

The alphabet is the easiest theme for guests...when you send out the invites, tell each guest what letter they are. Their gift has to start with the letter they are assigned.
