well lasik is considered a clean, (no side effect) surgery.

however it leaves a very thin rim (ring) of corneal opacity (scar)which it can be noticed in dim light as driving in night when the pupils are dilated, it is made by the keratotome (surgical instrument) to produce a corneal flap to apply laser to correct the visual defect.
bottomline it is considered a very good treatment for refractive errors esp. low to modertae myopes .
