We see evil as being the very nature of mankind. Our flesh remains in that nature. We always struggle to bring it under submission to the spirit.. That is what that Christian was saying... Jim

That was my answer.
Of course, Christians cannot independently stop doing evil. A Christian is a forgiven sinner. A Christian must put the old behind and put on a new mind but this can only be done when a Christian is totally dependent on the Lord Jesus Christ. It is only by depending upon the strength of the Lord Jesus Christ that a Christian can stop doing evil. A Christian must be totally dependent on the Lord Jesus Christ or he/she is not a Christian. The word Christian means 'follower of Christ'.

.I can't do anything on my own about stopping sin. What I want to do I don't do, but what I don't want to do I do. In my flesh dwelleth no good thing. BUT thru Christ I am more than a conqueror. My righteousness is through Christ Jesus. I will pray that you come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

I cant answer answer for other Christians but for Catholics, our theology teaches us that man, due to the effects of original sin, has the tendency to do evil. however, with the help of God's grace, man is called to live a good life in spite of all temptations in the world.

i do no longer think in different gods as a remember of religion. Having any loyalties to the different gods or goddesses could be betraying my god. it extremely is approximately constancy. Christianity is like marriage for many individuals. we don't "cheat on" God with the different gods because of the fact we can't say we adore him if we are actually not truthful to him. My first and easily loyalty is to the god of the Christian bible no longer because of the fact of evidence yet because of the fact of what's needed of me. i don't have something against others, yet Christianity is own relationship.

John 15:5
"I (Jesus) am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."

My favorite is when they say that atheist's are immoral because god is the basis for morality. Usually if pressed on the issue you can get them to admit that if they didn't have god in their lives they would probably be murderous drug addicts, which only says volumes about their personal character.

no, i just think that religions view sin as a form of weakness and that with stronger faith it can be avoided. it is a form of pep talk to ones self.
most religions believe that when someone is committing a sin they are out of the frames of that religion but that with faith and repentance they will return to their religion and not stray again

Oh goodness! Christians are as likely as the nest (wo)man to need help, OR to be independant. Please, if you're an atheist, just be happy in your beliefs (as I'm sure you are!)
It's tough for all us 'non-believers', but disrespecting Christians is not the way forward.

Standard Christian theology. Why are you surprised? There's LOTS more such evidence.
