His mother also died the day after thanksgiving when he was younger so this time of year is already hard for him so he wants to be with family and visit his moms grave.

Unfortunately, he's probably not going to let him go at this time. He's had a violation for one thing and even if he did decide on a whim to let him go, there is lots of paperwork involved in letting him go out of the country or state. It costs money as well.

The reason i know this is because i have been on probation before. In order to be released on a travel permit you must be up to date on all your fines as well as have clean ua's and no violations. Probation is just that.... a chance to prove that you can start over and not commit anymore crimes.

He has to realize that means no speeding, no nothing... this is his one chance to prove himself.

Just because someone is on probation does not mean they are a bad person... they made a mistake.

Maybe this year you two can have a dinner together. Just tell him to make sure he keeps on the straight and narrow path. This is his chance at a life...

Tell him to see his State Representative and I hope he/she is a Democrat! LOL - No he needs to enlist a City Official or someone of High Ranking - but that may not help. What are the "conditions" of his Probation? If he was NOT ordered to stay in the State, his probation officer can't stop him. I don't know of any country that would bar you from entry because you had a Reckless Driving Conviction. That is NOT a Federal Offence and as far as I know, it is only a Conviction of a Federal Offence that will Prohibit your boyfriend from flying! Check it out for yourself. Call any Air Line, and just ask, if you can buy a ticket, although you/your boyfriend was convicted of reckless driving. Maybe you not telling us everything! On his offence, was someone hurt or killed? That makes a Hugh Difference! because that is a Federal Offence and he won't be able to leave the US/Canada for 7-years and then he must have his record expunged! by request.

Sounds all so sad, this is what happens when we do not follow the rules. He will most likely go, and you will go with him and find yourself in a mess with him. Looks like you make bad chooses. If he is on probation you can not leave the state, but I think you already know that.

If it was up to me, I'd let him go on the condition he didn't come back.
