Domenico di Michelino (1417 – 1491) was an Italian painter of the Florentine school and a student of the famous Fra Angelico. He was born in Florence in 1417.

Michelino predominantly painted scenes from the Bible. His most famous work can be found in the dome of Florence's church of Santa Maria del Fiore including La commedia illumina Firenze ("The Comedy Illuminating Florence"), showing Dante Alighieri and the Divina Commedia (Divine Comedy). The work shows the city of Florence, and depicts Hell, Mount Purgatory and the earthly Paradise with Adam and Eve.

He died in Florence in 1491.

I do not know that there were or are paintings, but for many years expensive editions of the "Divine Commedia" were illustrated with engravings, and I believe those were the work of Delacroix. Interestingly, it was rumored and generally believed that Delacroix was an illegitimate son of Talleyrand who sponsored him through his training. Yes, now I recall. At least some of those were originally paintings, because I read a letter of his where he said that the head of a sufferer in the scalding lake who was gnawing on the gunwale of the boat was the best thing he had ever "painted." But it was Delacroix, certainly.
