Moshing means dancing in a mosh pit. Moshing grew out of slam dancing from the days of the Dead Kennedys and PIL. Moshing got to be the term once the seattle scene took over with Curt Cobane, etc.

The idea in this dance is actually just to jump and bash into one another and it can be very exhilarating - and very dangerous depending upon the crowd. These are the folks you see lifting people overhead and handing them around the crowd, etc.

Peace!

Moshing is a form of group dancing usually done to heavy metal music! Basically, it's just jumping and and "banging" to the beat!
