Try being cute.
For instance:
"Be sure to bring a SMALL SIZE gift, one that would be seen on SIX in the City..."

You put the size on the invite so that the guests can buy something that will fit and not just get things that she cannot wear and waste people's money.
Say it is a lingerie shower, they are to bring lingerie and the bride's size is.........

If the guests know her size, great...if not then the bride can always return things, or exchange them. I'm sure the guests will understand the fact that they might not know her size and give her a gift receipt or something. You could always put her size in the invites though...just make a note at the bottom.

List the sizes in the shower invitation. If you don't list them, guests won't know what to get and the bride will have to make returns for the correct sizes.

You have to include the bride's sizes in the invitation. Add a little card -- maybe shaped like a bra -- that says "Sarah is a 36C and a size medium."
Double check with the bride, though. You want to make sure she is comfortable with her "numbers" being flashed around. If she's not ok with it being sent out, then have the groom guess and you can blame it on him if you're completely wrong :)

Only if you want them to get lingerie that fits her, and that will be a bummer if she has to run around and exchange lingerie. I would put her bra and dress size (S, M, or L) on the invite. That will give people enough info to buy something. Best of luck to you!

tell them bluntly...how else are they suppose to know? How about getting a gift card from the lingerie store.

On the invitation, also what style, colour, etc. she prefers, it's no different than letting people know preferences for other things.
