1. The 'test of time' will tell you a lot.

By the amount of time and attention he devotes to you. If it's very little, it probably means very little interest. If your all he thinks about, he's probably desperate. Somewhere in the middle is best in my opinion.

it depends on his age. if he's young, like a teenager, he will try to show off or somehow get your attention. if he's older, he will let you know more directly by flirting with you, complimenting you, or asking you out.
