Well since the thyroid helps to regulate weight, and you quit smoking (smoking not only speeds up metabolism but it decreases appetite)...you're in for a rough spot.

Basically the best you can do is excercise regularly and watch your calorie intake.

I really can't give your more information without more details, and even then your best bet is to consult your doctor.

Important factors that are missing here is why did you have the thyroid surgury, and what was the result of that. Also, when you say you are on nerve pills do you mean because you have an anxiety disorder or nerve damage?

In any case, please consult your doctor and perhaps and nutritionist.

Slow and steady wins the race:

1. Add one new healthy food to your diet every 2 weeks (I'd do a green veg first, like adding frozen spinach to your omelet)
2. Switch out one unhealthy food for one healthy substitute (like switching to wholegrain bread)
3. Eliminate one unhealthy food from your diet every 2 weeks (I'd do fries first, or maybe something you eat occasionally but don't LOVE, to make it easier)
4. Shoot for ten minutes per day of exercise, and add 5 minutes per day each month
5. Drink as much water as you can
6. Stop eating two bites short of full
7. Tell a friend that you're doing this

Success builds on success. With each small step, you'll be less likely to go back, and this way you won't feel deprived or risk gaining all the weight back!

you know you need help with this so why don't you go get it. Start slowly. Stop eating the junk food eat fruit and veggies instead. Walk Walk Walk. it will help you burn calories and it will help to lift your depression so you are not so dependant upon the pills. Ask your doctor about your medication because there might be an alternative that will not cause weight gain.

Do not give in to despair. Keep working at it and you will see results. God Bless

Lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks??

There are some websites on the Internet, which promise you that you are going to lose 10 pounds in every 2 weeks. If you are good in math you will find that keeping these stats in mind, 260 pounds in a year. Losing 260 pounds is the figure, which is unbelievable and unexpected.

This kind of claims are planned just to cause clients to make impulsive decisions. When you gain weight, did you gained around 50 minds in two months? Certainly not. We gain weight in weight in small parts, which add up to our weight. This keeps on increasing with time.

I think you get what I mean to say. We normally gain weight in grams like 65 gram per week. With this stat you are going to gain around 7 pounds at the end of year.

This weight is so slow that you cannot measure it weekly. But in fur years you are going to gain around 28 pounds.

So how can you expect this weight to go in few days? You are going to lose the way you have gained it. So it will take time to lose weight. So you have to start losing weight systematically. You can lose weight by developing the good eating habits in you and nutritious foods.

If you do not have too bad of a sweet tooth, the diabetic diet has worked wonders for me. It basically consists of 3 reasonable meals and 3 snacks a day. Processed sugar is virtually eliminated and natural sugars from fruit is limited. Eating a lot of whole grains (good carbs) and low-fat protein is stressed. you need to change your diet and exercise to help lose someof the wieght you should check with your doctor and see what he recommends for a exercise program and stick with his suggestions but if you lower your calorie intake and raise your calorie burn by exercising you should lose some of the unhealthy wieght, you will gain some muscle and not show an actually loss in wieght for a short period of time but it is a lot better to be 180 lbs of muscle then 180 lbs of fat, one very bland diet i was on for a while but helped me lose 20 lbs was a peanut butter sandwich and a glas of orange juice for breakfast, a salad with no dressing for lunch an apple for a snack in the midday and a light dinner.
