Oh yeah, and talk about COMICAL... I am not sure what is worse really...
Real Satan worshippers are a hoot... its all about self-gratification and getting yours, which if you think about it, indulgence is the antithesis of what Christianitiy was SUPPOSEDLYabout... humility and self-sacrifice.
Movies like Rosemary's baby and others made Satan worshippers into something they are not... The really dangerous people are occultists who actually believe that they can harness the 'power' of evil. Those people are A LOT worse than are actual devil worshippers, really. But aside from the odd sacrifice, mosgt are pretty harmless.
I used to dabble in all kinds of wierd stuff after escaping christianity (I am a recovering southern baptist) and the scariest folks by far were the occultists who were trying to reach evil itself rather than trying to conjure some cartoonish representation of what some fevered mind once envisioned as the epitome of evil, satan.
I have to be honest, I think that everyone is equally as comical in their attempt to reach out to something larger than themselves. I mean I understand the fear that drives them.. the thought of death (the ultimate unnkonwn) is really scary but I don't undertand how people are willing to toss reason aside just to try to feel better about themselves and thier place in this world...
In all truth, the scariest people, of ALL, that i have ever known, in a religious sense, were the pentecostals, OH WAIT.. no... the snake handlers.. yep definitely, I will take a devil worshipper over a snake handling christain ANY DAY!

If you mean Satanists, the few I've met were either people raised Christian and still harboring a deep grudge (generally much moreso than the most vocal atheist here or elsewhere), or those who thought they were on a cool power kick.
I must add that I have no way of knowing how the few I have met compare to an accurate cross-sampling.

No, but I've many who claimed they were. They were nothing but wannabes who would have run scared to their mommies if they met a real one. And the Satanists that I know, they're athiests, they don't even believe in the demon Satan. It's just a mythological being, a symbol, to them; nothing with any real power.

I met someone who believed he was, so I suppose that counts as a yes. For him, it was more an acknowledgement of Satan as the best example of self-centeredness. He wasn't into 'worship', but he was definitely a disciple.
