Is it ok if I don't do anything and just let her .. manifest? My mum doesn't allow me to bring her a tomcat but I think she's suffering. Will this make her ill?

HI Tess...your kitty isn't actually in any pain. She is doing what nature intended to caterwaul (meowing incessantly) to call out to a tom. The only best solution is to ask your mother to consider having her spayed as soon as possible to minimize the caterwaulings which can be more of a nuisance than anything and to prevent unwanted pregnancies. If finances are of concern to your mother let her know that many animal shelters will perform spay surgergies for a low nominal fee and some will do it for free if your family is considered low income.

No, you will just have to suffer through it. Glad your mum won't let you bring in a tomcat already too many unwanted animals as it is. Get your cat spayed.

There are no "pills" you can give her for being in heat. She is not suffering. In a few days she will stop her wailing and odd behavior. But she will continue to go into "heats" until she is spayed or pregnant. It is better to have her spayed,it is healthier for her and keeps the cat population down, reducing the number of kittens that end up being euthanized.

DON'T give her any pills of any sort. You'll kill her. What you need to do is get her fixed so that she will no longer go into heat. Make an appt with your vet as soon as you can. I'm not sure if they can do the procedure while she is going through the heat cycle though. You'll need to ask. There's really nothing you can do about it in the meantime.

Should you give your cat pills??!!!!!!! No that will kill her. You should never give a cat human pills because their bodies work differently than ours. What you really need to do( as soon as possible) is take her to the vet or humane society and get her spayed. When a female cat is in heat she's miserable and suffering. So please take her to get fixed and don't give her any pills.

Do NOT give your cat ANY pills you might kill it. She is not in pain!!!!!!
She is very loud and is rolling around ...she wants to go out and get a mate.
After she is in heat, get her fixed or she will come in heat about every few weeks and will surely find a way to escape and get a litter of kittens.

Please spay her....you will spend many nights agonizing trying to get to sleep over her moaning at the window. It's better for everyone for SO MANY REASONS if you spay her.
The statistics are (something like)every man, woman, and child in the USA would have to adopt 45 cats to eliminate the over-population problem.
