the ones who don't care are the ones who are taught that life is easy if you take what you need. They have been taught (or learned) that they have the right to everything.

the ones who care have learned that life is not easy - that you work for what you have and that others matter because they are important

We do but the fact that your belief is different from them then you are bound to hurt their feelings.

Let's say everyone says your father is evil due to some propaganda by others. Some will believe this without even knowing your father. You know your father and you think he is a decent person. Will you keep quiet and not say anything so you won't hurt other people's feelings? A good daughter will defend her dad and preach what she knows about the goodness of her dad. Of course it doesn't work if the dad is truly evil.

I think the biggest problem people have on the way to caring, is that they cannot empathise. It's all very fine and well being able to feel pity or to not like how you feel when others feel bad, but you have to be able to put yourself in someone else's shoes to truly care about them. Lack of empathy, then, would be my answer.
Good luck

First of all, by a copy of Kiersey and Bates,"Please Understand Me" It will answer many of your questions.

If you're asking about on here, it can be far too easy to get caught up in the point, and then I know for me, sarcasm begins to leak through. Especially on issues that are very close to my own emotional hang ups.

It's just the way of the world. Some good, some evil. Some honest, some deceiving. Surround yourself with the good, and give good back.

Do you mean on Y!A? Who could possibly have their feelings hurt by someone on here who you will never, ever encounter for real? Why be so sensitive? It's in your power not to have your feelings hurt by anyone here - use it.

Alot of people are really hurting and they don't know how to deal with it, so they lash out at others because they feel helpless.

I wonder if they would be negative in person, while their face to face with you.... perhaps some.

This negativity shows you their ability, or stage of learning experience of gained knowledge and understanding. perhaps they need a tougher road, to break open, and release resentment.
