No. BTW: There is a big, big, big difference between the Church of God and the Church of Christ.

Good question. Yes, one of many proofs that Jesus Christ is God. Watchtower has invented a Christ that can't be found in the Bible. This along with many other false doctrines is what makes Russellism a cult... Which also makes Joseph Smithism a cult... The following is a select reading from "Christian Answers" Is Jesus Christ a man, or is he God? "Jesus Christ is most definitely God. He created Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, in his image. He is the Creator of the universe. The Bible says, "Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made" (John 1:3). This includes all the stars, all the original animals and plants, and even the angels (Colossians 1:15-17). It is important not be confused. God did not create Jesus. Jesus is God, and he has always existed. Jesus proved that he is God by doing many things that only God could do. These are called miracles. He made dead people alive. He walked across a great lake. He made blind eyes see perfectly again. He healed deadly diseases with a word. The exciting truth is that Jesus is now also a man, and will remain so for all eternity. He humbled himself to become like one of his own creations. He chose to become a man to help us in an extremely important way. This amazing event happened about 2-thousand years ago. The results have changed the world forever."

Communion at our church is usually taken at Easter and maybe 2 more times a year. The reason for the communion is to remember and celebrate his death. I feel if you take it too much or every service, it loses it's meaning. The Bible never says when or how often to take it, it just sets asides rules for it..your heart needs to be right between you and other people and with God and you need to be sincere when taking it...don't just do it because everyone else is.

Most Church of Christ teach this, but nowhere does the Bible say you have to take communion every day, month or when ever. Jesus said do it in remembrance of Him. If they are doing it for the right reason then there is nothing wrong with it. If the are doing it just because that is the way the people teach then it is wrong

I am a member of the church of Christ.

We follow the Biblical example that shows the early Christians partook of the Lord's Supper (communion) on the first day of the week.(Acts 20:7) Since every week has a first day, we partake of the communion each week.

There is no Biblical example of this being done at any other time, therefore, Sunday is the only day we practice this item of worship.

The significance of the first day of the week is that this is the day of the week Jesus rose (Mark 16:1-2), and this is the day the church began (Acts 2 - Pentecost was always on the first day of the week).

The bible doesn't mandate how often communion should be taken.
It's a reminder of His sacrifice and can be done at any gathering, but is not a required event by any means.

Sounds Catholic.
Our Church (Lutheran) has communion twice a month.

I know people that do it everyday. Jesus gave instructions for how often to do this when he showed us how to do it. The Bible is great for instruction....
