morales undergone extreme weightloss regimen in 2 months to reach 130 lbs from 170 lbs, which may include dieting, cardio exercises, which may cause more harm than good, because he might be losing more muscles and lessen his strength and power. coming into the fight he came in very thin, and without any rubber match or tuneup bouts in between their last fight with pacquiao, he might be too consious in losing weight than actually training or improving his strength and stamina.. he looked weak, than their previous 2 fights..

Boxers should never waste themselves for a lower weight limit - it almost always ends in a loss because they lose stamina and muscle.

Let's see... he lost 40 pounds in 8 weeks, which is 2 1/2 times the recommended weight loss rate. That means that either he was in horrible shape when he started, or starved his body of fuel during late training, or both.

If he was that outta shape 8 weeks out, that would explain his showing. If he didn't eat right for 8 weeks, that would explain his problems too.

you can say he lost because he lost weight too fast, and it could have caused alot of changes for him, but you have to consider, that while he was losing those pounds he was under strict supervision from EXPERTS, and i think they know what they were doing with him. i dont think that morales' coach would allow that to happen if it would be a loss for them from the start, right? and you have to consider also that MANNY PACQUIAO is in the best shape EVER, i was definitely surprised that pacquiao was bigger that morales on the weigh in. it just so happen that manny was a better fighter than erik when they fought. pacquiao got a lot better since freddie roach handled him. but if erik morales had survived the third round .. . i think morales could have given manny a better fight. pacquiao dominated him. it may be the cause of erik's weightloss, but i think you would have to agree with me that manny was better when they faced each other, better conditioned, better prepared, better trained that is why he won!!!
and i do think that manny is the BEST in their division right now!!!

it's his fault that he was over weight and had to diet so much before the fight...even though he was'nt in an extreme wight loss state, he'll lose anyway..

There's a reason why they give them the time to train. they were notified for so long about this bout, so whatever they do they did it for themselves. it just came down that he just lost to pacman. no excuses.

I think so. Just by the looks of him when he entered, you can already tell that it would not be good.
